Default story...

The race started to unwind well before we rolled the car on stage 7.

I slammed into a tire chicane on stage 5, which was a short tarmac stage, and broke all of my lights and bent a tie-rod really badly. We had a short 10 minute service after stage 5 to swap tires and we tried to bend the tie-rod back into place as much as possible.

There were 2 stages left, 6 and 7, for the evening and since I only had my passenger side stock headlight left we were taking it pretty easy. I was a mile from the end of stage 7 when i entered a "left 5, tightens to 4" turn. That's basically third gear almost flat-out!

As we apexed and exited the corner the back of the car came out......and then just kept going...I couldn't get it the rear to grab at all! As we spun almost 180 degrees we were crossing to the inside of the road and the car just dug in and started rolling...we came to a stop on a pile of dirt against some trees!

Once the recovery guys got the car back on its feet we drove it 20 miles back to the hotel.

Anyone selling doors, fenders, carbon hood....and a complete shell?

Andrew....
