PS3 Problems!!!!

So i have come to conclusion that my PS3 is a piece of crap. I have been having problems with it loading games and movies after it freezes during playback. when i put the game or movie in. The little swirl shows up in the corner but no icon to click on. I have called SONY to ask about this and they say that they will send me a refurbished system(one that was broke before) for a charge of $150. The hell with that cause they arent even giving a warranty on the system they send to you. Its supposedly the cause of their latest firmware. Their ar possible lawsuits going on against SONY for this issue. I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem i have been having? and what did you do to solve it?

I bought one the first day they came out, and I never had a problem with it...Then I got rid of it and the guy I sold it to hasn't had any problems either. That sucks man, I also bought a 2yr extended warranty for it for like $40...so I wasn't too worried about anything anyways. Good luck though. Bump for help.

I keep my shit clean so it aint no dust problem. I got mine when they came out also but it was the second shipment 60G in Jan 2007...

try and call again, see if you can resolve the issue calmly. The firmware updates are a pain in the ass. I believe it is due to the blue ray recording process as well as the security behind the blue ray disc. Did you search on google about this issue?

As for me I've only had my ps3 freeze a few times and had to reformat mine once thats it. I wish you luck.

look on craigslist....
my friend traded his 360 for a ps3 to use as a bluray player....then he is going to buy a new 360 with the hdmi port....make sure you get a 360 with hdmi best way to tell that it has the newer internals and is issue free....most 360s are still under warranty as microsoft has a 3yr warranty on thier consoles not a 90day like most
