I went on the cali dmv website and they dont tell the price. How much is it? Also how much is it just to check the car, and what happens if you just check the car and it doesnt pass, does it go to the registry?
its between $60-$100 usually it includes a pre test. if it fails you still get charged but they will usually retest for free after youve fixed the problem
The reason you didn't see it on the DMV website is that the smog tests are done at a licensed smog check shop (private business), not at or through the DMV.

Ive seen em as low at 29.95 Test only centers.
