Ideas for a regional meet to end all regional meets and make it annual thing.
I believe the best location is Las Vegas, NV for several reasons.
LV Motorspeedway is a multi-functional facility with a HUGE parking lot for the NASCAR race they have every year.
The parking lot can serve as a jumping off point for everything -
Midway for manufactuers
Car Club Reg/Promotion
Car Show
Consessions
The oval can be used for the AutoX/Time Trail event.
We know what to use the drag strip for...
To ensure high turnout, we need to contact potential sponsors of the event and also charge a fee for attendants.
I think a nominal fee of $50-60 should provide payment for EVERYTHING we need to ensure this is the event to be talked about for years to come.
That fee should cover consessions, track rental, track employees, security & first aid staffing and all the other things we need.
With the help of the sponsors, we should be able to provide rewards for those that would like to race or show.
High payouts ensure top cars/teams will show up for a non-offical/non-points event.
The hard part is getting everybody involved. Its hard to post on other sites without people thinking your spaming their site.
I think we need to run an ad someplace to get people in powerful postions involved. Like Chris Dye who owns Club RSX for example.
There's no reason we can't have a event similar to the NOPI Supershow, but with some real racing. I think the industry can support it since so many don't make the trip from the 4-5 states that make up the west coast and the largest centralized population west of the Mississippi.
I know some of you will go, so this is not a post about that. I'm just looking for input and those willing to do some leg work.
Anthony, I crunched the numbers for a purposial for last years Nationials...for the 1/4 and road corse it was close to 23k Its not cheap, but if you need any help let me know

Okay but that's a full road course....
LV Speedway is one stop shopping for motorsports.
It might cost that much to rent out the site for 2 days, but honestly -
Average attendance for NOPI is around 1,000 cars and 100,000 people. The NASCAR race at LV is around 80,000 and that doesn't seem to stress anything...
Those figures are with about 98% of the attendance at NOPI coming from the east coast and eastern Canada. I'd say its around 2% that make the trek from Az, NV, Wash, Ore, Id or Cali.
So if you had 1,000 cars show up and pre-paid $65 to attend and say $70 at the gate purchases, thats - $67,500 (mean price is $67.50)
Sponsors can offset some of that, leaving money for prizes, awards, and other stuff given to the attendants.
If its only say $30-40K to rent LV Speedway for 2 days over a weekend, that's not bad.
I think honestly we can get over that figure in attendance easy...
All it takes is promotion, lead time and planning. People plan going to NOPI a year in advance mostly. So we would need to annouce something by at least the end of this year.
We should go to SEMA and talk to some companies about sponsoring such an event.
I mean LV's nightlife should sell it easy to alot of people.
i'd be down to help as much as we can also. Mo already spoke with bubba and he said he would be down.
Great, we should have dinner....
How would we get the word out? Im just not sure how we could do it.
Magazine ad runs about $200 for 1/4 page b&w ad. Times that by say 5 to get it in the Top read magazines - Import Tuner, Turbo, Sport Compact and Super Street (Import Racer would be the 5th).
Emap might even be interested in this since they are a west coast based media company and they own all the magazines I just mentioned.
I think it would be best if we all came together and talked about this. I know jayson (slow4dr) talked about this. We would need to get many people as possible, more people we have the less responsibilities there would be and things will move smoothly.

Let us know anything we can do. I will contact everyone I know as far as leads in this. I will make some calls to a couple casino owners I know personally and see if I cant get them to use it as an advertisement for their hotel. Bring in those who need hotels to him, ect...
Also once we get this going, which we will, since my company is local I will be willing to offer numerous prizes, ect...being we can do it all in house here
1000 People might not be that difficult. 1000 Cars on the other hand might be a bit of a task.
I mean if we can advertise it big here locally in Vegas and see even 1/2 the turnout that we had a couple weeks back for NHRA Sport Compact then that would easily be 2000+ people. Im sure that we can round up probably 500 from other states. The forums alone can bring in a nice chunk.
I am going to PM all the Admin, and drop Ekool a PM as well. If he is willing to do a Homepage article, Im sure the west coast people will flood in.
Well if you want to make it SRT-Specific, I guess you could do that. I wasn't all that impressed with the turnout at the SRT Nationals judging by the pictures and all. Plus they had to bring in SDAC to make sure all went smoothly. Now you have brickering over the Shelby-Dodge guys winning most of the drag racing.
Traditionally, the SD guys (at least on the east coast) are anti-Neon and usually try anything to bash the cars. Now on the west coast, we're more relaxed than that and you don't have any issues with any of the Mopar crowd as far as I can tell.
But I dunno, I like to think BIG and I know we aren't the only ones that are interested in something like this.
I think it would be fun to see everybody together, having a good time, walking around the show, the drags and the midway and a little good natured ribbin/shhh talkin.
Just think about it for a second.
We can do better than NOPI because more than 2/3's of the aftermarket is already on the west coast and if we position it right, time wise, they could be in town a weekend or two early for the SEMA show and be at our event, cutting down on travel cost.
Las Vegas is a destionation like no other in the US. Like people REALLY want to go the middle of nowhere outside of Atlanta otherwise.... If you know where the track is in GA, then you'll know there isn't SHHH around it but some little town that's heavily NASCAR oriented, among other things.
Just think of the massive cruise down Las Vegas Blvd....
All the clubbin we could do the first and second night we are there...
When and Where should be meet? I think a good time to meet for the first time should be in the next few weeks and then again at SEMA. I know Josh will be there and I can get in with a few people I know. If your creative, you can get into SEMA...

Anybody experienced in making proposals?
Like we talked about bro we all need to get together and talk this out in person and see what we want to do and how we are going to go about doing things.
