Default Motorcycle Question

Hey Cali riders. I've been tossing around the idea of getting a bike for a while now and I have a few questions for anyone that rides. The bike I've been looking to get is a 04-07 Suzuki GS500F, which is a great starter bike, but are there any other suggestions? Also how much should I expect to pay for insurance per month? Any opinions are welcome

Bike insurance is cheap on low risk bikes like the one you said and if you are over 25. That's a great bike as is the SV650 by Suzuki. I see the SV recommended more than any other bike. The plain Ninja 250 and 500 are good ones too but even my wife won't go for the 250 so...
Be safe.

Jimmy take the MSF course to get your license. It's gonna be a bit pricey now that you're 21. But it's still an awesome class and a great way to learn a few tricks and stuff. Not to mention you can get discounts on insurance and other stuff. Also if you pass the class you don't have to go to the DMV and do the driving portion. All you'd have to do is the written portion. go to http://ca-msp.org/RiderCourse_Locati..._locations.htm If you haven't got your license yet that is.

I plan on getting a CBR 600RR soon.

fuck that shit

get the new CBR 600RR

I was going to get one, but my credit isn't good enough right now to get financed reasonably. Damn credit card.

So instead im looking into getting a used 03-05 CBR 600, 04-06 Daytona 600 series, or a 03-04 Yamaha R6.

You're gunna love riding Jimmy. I ride my buddies CBR 954RR all the time. Its fucking fun as shit. Just cant wait to get my own so i dont have to ask to ride his lol.

+1 SV650. +1 for a naked bike as well. First time you drop anything with a fairing, your looking at 500 bucks. I learned on a SV. And I loved it.

i have a 06 cbr 600rr and its bad ass.....but the new 07's are fully redesigned and are even sicker....lighter and more horsepower and more adjile..shorter wheel base and it comes with a electronic steering stabalizer.....i would definately get a cbr for your first bike ....its not as squirley as a gsxr .....oh and bike insurance is not cheap...they wanted 250 a month for full coverage but only 20 a month for liability....

HAHA, Have any of you guys priced out insurence on a CBR600RR with a name company? With less then a year of having a motorcycle license? Go get a quote right now, and get back to me.

Is a CBR600 really a good starter bike? Seems a little too advanced. I have some riding experience but thats only in the dirt. Also yes I'm 21 so I'm guessing that would make my insurance higher. Mike, I've been planning on doing just what you said by taking the MSF, then buying a bike.
