Texting is most deff the new age. I got the unlimited texting plan for my kids cuz its cheaper than being on the phone. My cell phone bill has gone down the past few months because of this.

Texting can still land you a ticket. It's up to the officer whether or not you are in violation.

New Cellular Phone Laws that Go Into Effect July 1, 2008

Q: Does the new “hands-free” law allow drivers 18 and over to text message while driving?
A: The law does not specifically prohibit that, but an officer can pull over and issue a citation to a driver of any age if, in the officer’s opinion, the driver was distracted and not operating the vehicle safely. Sending text messages while driving is unsafe at any speed and is strongly discouraged.

basic rule violation! you can get that type of ticket for just about anything the officer feels might have been a distraction.

Yeah but it isn't out-lawed.

The difference is, the Officer can give you a ticket, without you doing anything if you seem distracted.

However, you can be driving perfect, and on the phone and still get owned.

Texting can't be seen unless you hold your phone up like a retard.....
