Apparently the job here in Seattle did not work out the way I wanted it to and so I've been seeking other opportunities. There in SoCal.
One place is in Pasadena. Could be a yes, could be a no, nothing is in stone and I want to keep my options open before I start making decisions.
So I want to be prepared to get a feel for prices and distance (for Pasadena). What can you recommend a 27 year old bachelor in or around that area. Also a safe place to park my car. Aint trying to spend hella money.
If I’m spending a G, I better be getting red carpet treatment. Then again I'm sure it's gonna be expensive.

Appreciate any help you can give me
1K in Pasadena? Good luck. You might be lucky and find a spot for that cheap. My buddy found a spot in South Pasadena (one of the safest spots in L.A.) for under 1K. Surrounding areas like Burbank and Glendale are pretty high too.
Thanks guys from your input so far.
So far I found the folliowing cities;
Burbank, Glendale, Alahambra, Montery Park, San Marino, Temple City, Areadia and Altadena. Shit is pretty expensive. Almost the same as living downtown San Francisco.
I guess if I want to save some bucks i'll find a roomie.
I wish I can bring the bitch from my avitar, too bad she is just a google search
San Marino = Some of the most expensive homes in the country found here 20 million+
Monterey Park = Hit and miss, full of mexican gangs
Burbank = nice but expensive, tons of movie sets etc there
Glendale = true suburb of LA.. expensive, not a lot of apartments
Temple City = Reasonable, tons of asians and not too bad. Still expensive though.. but probably the best so far chance at a cheap apt. Low crime mostly
Alta Dena and Arcadia are the same as temple city.. old school neighborhoods.. some apartments for the local college (Citrus College) and that's about it, closer to the mountains you get, the more expensive it is... closer to the freeway (10 fwy) you get.. the more ghetto it is..
SoCal is not cheap, but remember this.. anything under 1000 a month ..there's a good chance it's ghetto.
Seriously, where is this job going to be? Pasadena? Or..

Work is gonna be in Pasadena. I think downtown. Again nothing is solid but god damnit. Good to know for the future.
try eagle rock, it's a nice small town type of feel and everything is in driving distance. also try SOME parts of highland park, sunland, and or tujunga. those are all hit or miss... nice..OR GHETTO!

Right on. Last thing I want to worry about is my "neon" getting fucked with. Been a couple of months since I drove, but last thing I need is someone to fuck with my baby. I would go completly ape shit.
Dude, your best bet is to rent from someone with a garage. Try places in La Verne, San Dimas,Azusa, Diamond Bar. Cheaper for sure, and not ghetto at all. They are all east of Pasadena These are all within a 30 minute drive of Pasadena ...traffic headed that way in the morning is a nightmare from the above cities to pasadena sometimes though. Depends on what time you would start. There are a lot of homes with rooms for rent in the cities I listed.. and in fact there are a lot of condos in those cities too.. for around 1200-1400. you might find one around 1000..or 900,. La Verne and Claremont have tons of colleges, so there are lots of apartments and they are all right off the 210 which is the freeway you'd take to Pasadena.

Grew up here and still live in Highland Park. There are some nice spots and then there are some f'd up areas.
