Default Launching the SRT

Ive seen tid bits of info on what some people are doing...ie..blipping the throttle etc.

What method are people using to launch the srt from the line? ( and yes i did search against google...).

Launch at a specific rpm? and slip the clutch? or??

On street tires and what seems to work for me is I launch at 2K no higher. kind of slip/drop the clutch.

2 things

.1 KNOW YOUR CAR!!!!!!

.2 Practice!!!!!!!

No one can tell you, with words, how to launch your car. Just find an empty back road and work on it.

Im not trying to be a dick but... Are you new to a Stickshift? Your optimal launch will be when the tires barely start breaking loose. I dont care if you launch at 1,500RPM or 5,000RPM in the SRT, As long as you learn to modulate the throttle and Clutch properly, you will meet your goal everytime. Your Clutch will be just fine at long at your not "SIDE STEPPING" (dropping the clutch near redline) or using Slicks.

If this advice isnt working for you, take your car back to the dealer and get a Dodge Caravan with an Auto-tranny.

I've made other SRT owners Jaw drop. This is how it is done.

As your pulling away and the tires are breaking loose, roll the the throttle on full. At about 4500RPM WOT Shift into 2nd gear ASAP. As long as your running stock boost levels the tires will hook up after a few sec in 2nd gear. At 5950RPM in 2nd WOT into 3rd gear and so on.

This will take mucho practice so you dont miss 1st to 2nd when WOT shifting. I have both my room mates to back me up, Ive outlaunched 2 STI's on the street. Given the drivers werent the best, they still launched very well.

Have fun and dont bust the selector tab or a syncro.

simple rule of thumb that seems to be constant thought is try and keep the RPMs under 2K and slip the clutch... from that point some feather the throttle or just go hole hard into it... but work on idleing the car between 1500 and 2000 and then slip the clutch... find the spot that works right for you... every car is a little different... the SRT has one of the harshest power pulls of all the FWD cars ive driven... but i still say the worst is a 02-05 SE-R that damn car pulls left and right and hops a little everytime u take off!... put like they said... practice makes perfect... just find a comfortable spot... id say under 2K and u should be getting 2.2 60ft at least.... hell u are from ontario... cant be that hard to find a nice empty back street... if not... i know a real sweet one that u can try out in redlands in mid day on a weekend.

Well I was prety much into the whole "engineering" part of it for such a while trying to understand how to build the car really.

Now it has a GT3071R turbo kit running on S2 running 15lbs of boost.

So........I figured Id get some good tips and practice like hell. Im really intereseted in seeing what the car does.
