Default Just got back from LACR. Who was the white SRT-4 I was messing around with??

Just got back from LACR, saw what seemed to be like a little SRT-4 meet. On my way home I caught up with a white 05 SRT-4, we raced from a stop on pearlblossom highway and messed around on the freeway. So you on here?

Thats isnt to bad. For an 03 stock most 04-05 run 14.5 so it was pretty good. what was your 60 time?

The track can be pretty crappy up there. The best I've run was at the IDRC International's a year ago when I was pulling 13.3 on slicks and that was with a ton of track prep. A few days before in Fontana I was doing consistent 12.9's on the exact same setup. While the track conditions aren't great, if you get a lot of runs in use them to work on that launch. The general rule of thumb is that for every 1/10 you drop off your 60' time you'll gain 2/10 off your E.T. That way if/when you make it down to Fontana or another decent track you should get a lot better times.

Most people who have raced at LACR and then raced at another track usually average .3-.6 seconds faster than what they ran at LACR. So you will find that almost universally people say to take whatever you ran at LACR and subtract ~ 1/2 second. LACR is about 3000 feet for anyone who doesn't know. Turbocharged cars don't suffer as bad from elevation change as non turbo cars though, so don't gain as much time. I'd say ~.3 would be VERY reasonable to expect though.

But damn you are losing a LOT of time on that 60'! If you can get that down close to 2 seconds flat you could easily cut another half second off your time! Nix the g/f as well, 100 lbs = ~.1.

So yeah you're right where you should be with that car all things considered, if you were at sea level, no g/f in the car, and cut a 2.1-2.2 60' which is not TOO hard on stock tires with practice, you're down around 14 flat or possibly 13's.

I hate LACR... I don't even bother going there anymore as not only the elevation kills it but it's not even a good track and the prep usually sucks and every time anyone goes there you hear this line "Everyone was having traction problems" because everyone DOES have traction problems there. It f'ign sucks to take a car you know should be fast to LACR and get your hops ruined with crappy times. I had built a 240z with naturally aspirated 2.9L motor making ~ 170hp at the wheels in a very light 2300 lb chassis... shoulda been a very low 14 second car instead I ran a 15.3. I was pissed.... LACR is a waste of time if you really want to know how fast you and your car are and especially if you want some #'s to brag about...

LACR is booty, but practice is practice. Whenever you can get it, get it. What hurts people most if lack of practice. If you have owned your car for awhile, Im sure you know where the sweet spot is.

I took my ACR up to LACR once all jazzed because I added the rest of the mount inserts that Prothane was prototyping at the time and a MP PCM to my Edelbrock Muffler and ICEMAN intake. I wasn't hoping for some record run, just some decent runs.

Fastest all night was 16.1. It was shhh cold and there was the usal ZERO traction because of it.

I was pissed, so I loaed up Nicole and borrowed a helmet from Jon and headed down to Carlsbad. First pass down - 15.8, Second pass - 15.6

I had a slower 60ft on the 15.8 run than I did on the 16.1 run up there, plus it as 4.5 mph faster!

But I can either wait for Fotana's winter schdule to start of head up to LACR to see what my latest purchase does...
