i'm behind a cop in the turning lane, we drive about a quarter mile, when he decides he wants to pull me over, got over in the other lane of traffic & slowed down to pull me over. His reason was that i didnt have a front plate originally.. he then accused me of being high, i have ADD, so i DO take ritalin; he has me do a stupid lil test NEway; his backup arrives, asks me what i have done to my car, and asks how much the wheels were, so i told him -- lights, mirrors, and wheels.. the other guy [the one that pulled me over] decided i needed to get out of the car.. asks me if he can search the car -- i know he's not gonna find jack sh*t besides my medication, so i told him about the medication & got out of the car, where he gave me the pat-down and sat me on the curb; i waited about 15 mins for him to search the car, while i talked to the backup guy "where ya headed, where ya from" .. all that good stuff; When its all said & done, he sends me on my way with a warning about the front plate... i say it again, carlsbad cops suck. its def. that time of the month for cops ..
Thats enough for me to stay clear or carlsbad.. I would have been talkin shit the whole time If i knew I didnt have anything they could hit me on besides the front plate ($10 fix it ticket)
most of those cops are just doing their job... most of them are cool... but you have to understand that they deal with 90% of the worlds biggest assholes and the worst part of sociaty on a daily basis.... would you want to deal with crackheads strangers all day? its bad enough i work with dumbasses at my work. let alone have them be all drugged up? just my .02 cents
LOL!! I know. My dad was a cop and I have already been through post. I am not going to pull over a car that appears to be owned by a minor simp[ly because of the way it looks, unless they are doing something wrong. I hate being targeted because of the way a car looks when you have done nothing wrong.
I would think that being a cop is hard, but I see no reason for that particular guy to treat suzy the way he did. If I ever get pulled over the cop better hope I have no place to be because if I don't he's gonna need to get a warrent to search my car!!! Not trying to be a tuff guy just exercising the rights that I've spent 18 years defending .

Hurmm some may see this another way:
I'm behind a cop in the turning lane, about a quarter mile down the road the cop notices that I am in violation of the law (No front license plate) and pulls me over. The Officer noticed something was out of the ordinary, and asked me if I was under the influence of a controlled substance. I informed the officer that I have ADD and take Ritalin, the officer preforms a test (Pupil Size most likely) and I more than likely show signs of being under the influence of a stimulant due to the Ritalin. Another officer arrives and starts to make small talk while the other officer was more than likely running my drivers license and registration. When the original officer came back he asked me to get out of my car and for my permission to search my car. I informed the officer that my medication was in the car and gave my consent for the search. The officer then gave me a quick precursery pat down for my and his protection. He then sat me on the curb while detaining me rather then in the back seat of his car which although riskier for him was more conveniant and comfertable for me. While the first officer searches my car the 2ed officer gives me a basic field interview. The search of my car took about 15 minutes. After completeing the search of my car and learning that my story checks out the officer decieds that there is no reason to continue the investigation of possible stimulant use. The officer uses his discretion on such a minor infraction and decieds that I had been cooperative, and had to wait while he searched my car and decieds to simply give me a warning about my front plate. I appreciate the professional manner that the Carlsbad PD officer acted in while doing his job.

more likely, it was lets pick on the modified car because this may lead to even a bigger bust!!!
As stated she was forth right and honest to begin with so why the pat down when he had back up? You guys can call it what you want, but in my opinion this is just yet another form of mild harrasment!!!! unlike most on this forum, I've been involved in the sport compact scene since the late 80's (still have a few sport compact cars issues from 1990).
Anywho Im thinking if suzy was on a harley with loud azz pipes (also a violation) she would not of been pulled over to begin with!!!! It's a terrible double standard, the cops (in my experiences) pick and chose what minor infractions they want to inforce!!!
I'm just glad that I don't fit the profile to get pulled over (young guy in a modified compact car) I'm a old guy in a modified compact car so I don't get bothered as much as I did in my 20's with my honda civic.
