so i decided to fill the stock motor mounts with polyurethane. i chose the 80a durometer from McMaster Carr found here: McMaster-Carr part # 8644K11. i chose this brand (Forsch) because it cures at room temperature, no baking needed.
so, i filled them last weekend, look great, but i apparently didn't tape them up well enough, so some leaked out the tranny and bottom mount.
now, since i have to buy more stuff to finish mine, and i don't want to waste it (1lb package is more than enough for a set then some), i wanted to see if someone local has some stock mount(s) that they would like to have filled for a portion of the material cost. its costs just over $32 with tax, so you put in $20, i cover the rest, and fill your mounts for you. you can bring them taped up and ready since i think i am not the best at that...
anyway, just wanted to get a feel if anyone is interested. also, if anyone wants me to pick this stuff up for them, the distributor is near my parents house in whittier, so hit me up and we can work something out.
let me know people. thanks...
PS: I live right near USC, so close to downtown LA.

Yeah i might be down for somethin like this....Whats the ride like? alot of vibrations?
well, since i screwed up a little, i haven't put them on yet. but what i hear from others, its not too bad. i have the race inserts now, and thay do add vibration, but you get used to it after a day or so. now, after having them for a while, i don't realize i have them.
I bought my flexane from markingpendepot .com. Free shipping on orders over $25 bucks. They're local too and it arrives in just a few days.
The no baking sounds good to me. I'm down to try it on the set of mounts I have.
cool. you interested. if so, hit me up man. shoot me a PM or something. and if others are in, i will try to help too...
let me know people...
and funwheel, sorry, but, it looks like you are at least close to wine country, no!? doesn't that mean canyon roads, or at least long highway stretches...
Why does everything cool happen so far away from here? I would totally do this.
you could buy motor mount inserts for 20-25$, and not have to deal w/ a messy ordeal and get identical results w/o it looking like someone filled your motor mounts w/ black hardened grease.
i understand being in college and poor...but buying flexane to fill your motor mounts to save you money? (tho you could get the same results for the same price or cheaper by just getting some 20$ inserts).

actually, the reason i filled my mounts is because i bought the race prothane inserts and didn't like them too much. they didn't help very much at all. but, this way, my tranny mount gets stiffened up too.

I didnt even realize they made inserts for our cars. Time to search the intraweb.

Lol that was one of the very first things to come out for our cars. I actually have 3 of the 4 original white inserts... forget the company that did them...
I prefer flexaine over inserts because unless you get the inserts with the large washer to keep them in they always pop out, even with zip ties.
I went 11.40's on just flexaine 94 numerous times and never broke an axle
