i am a data technician for a contractor for the navy.

i work on a electronic countermeasures range on the navy base here, and i watch test flights all day and take notes, then after the flight, i process data that we get from different radar systems during the flight. being the military nerd that i am, it lets me see cool planes from all branches of the military.

even last week we had 13 helo's come in and one of them dropped off a squad of marine special forces and they infiltrated a building that was taken over by terrorists [not for real]. was pretty cool to watch thru an IR camera. they blew the door off the building and ran in, and from there all we could see was muzzle flashes comin thru the windows.

we do tons of stuff out here cause of the limited visibility of civilians from highways and stuff.

here is where i work: http://www.nawcwpns.navy.mil/r1/pr/Ecr.htm
during a test flight, i sit at the console on the left: http://www.nawcwpns.navy.mil/%7Epacr...cr/03_oper.htm
