It's kind of fun when I find myself at some of these meets to just sit back and listen to half the crap people spew. "You need to buy xx", "this is what you have to do to go fast", "so and so part or tuner is the best-est-er". Then comes the "want to race" or "your car is a POS and you need to do blah-blah-blah to it" when they don't even know anything about you or your car that gives many away as really being a . It gets old pretty quick. I've found people who listen more than brag usually end up going faster.
I still like going to meets and looking at cars, but just hanging out in a parking lot every time gets kind of old when that's the only thing they do. Well I guess "only" isn't appropriate since some think it's cool to do illegal runs on busy streets and highways around the meeting place. Then they're surprised that cops show up after posting about it on a public forum. Maybe meet up at some place where everyone can go inside and get something to eat as a group, plan a nice mountain drive (i.e. Palomar), meet up at a track for some legal racing, go karting, etc. And for those who like to dyno race and then try to back it up on the street, if you really care about who has the fastest car there are so many variables out on the street you're not going to be able to tell half the time anyways. A car alone isn't fast; it's a combination of car and driver. And racing at a track will tell you who is the fastest/quickest since it will be a controlled environment. It's all too easy to ignore the "driver mod" or lack thereof but a track will point that out very clearly.

Well, the Hooters meet we organized is very laid back, and none of us tend to brag, besides me doing the occasional shit talking which is going to get me choked out....I just joke a little to much I guess.
Anyways we do stand around in a parking lot but it is cool to see others people cars and hang out. We don't normally talk about X and Y mod and HP this and I dyno'd that. We just bullshit with each other and talk about everything possible. Then if we are hungry we go into Hooters and grab a bite to eat and continue to bullshit.
Later doing the night I won't lie, we do plan runs but they are not on traffic streets or a congested or even slightly packed highway.
This does not however pertain to the 50 ricers that show up, we can't control and they are fuckin retarded.

Definitely not every SRT-4 owner acts that way, but the sad part is that many of them do. And I've known more than a few people that have showed up to meets for the first time and mention that a lot of the SRT-4 guys are j-a$$es. I've notice it too and while I bet a few people aren't realizing they are doing it, some are clearly no different than the "ricer Honda crowd" everyone loves to put down. A lot of former Honda/import/ricer owners have bought SRT-4's and brought the attitude with them.
And I do like looking at cars in parking lots and talking to other owners but when some owners come across with some superiority complex and act all stupid I shake my head and walk away. I've met a lot of cool SRT-4 owners but also ran across a ton more that aren't. It's like the car attracts retards.

Agreed. I think the old corona crew was pretty cool about everything and not normally like that.
Hooters is cool for our group of people but there are a lot of jack asses who get a Penis booster by racing 0-15 while they exit the parking lot, as there Vtec screams bloody murder look at me I made it to 15mph in 5 secs.....
i almost want to make posts all over saying races are going to be held at a certain time at a certain place and grab some lawn chairs get dropped off 20 min before and watch the show. haha. do this enough time and they will get the idea to stop trolling the forums.
Modded car owners don't carry guns like suv's on 22's. Much safer to pull over young guys. We pay our fines too. Pussy ass cops go bust some drug dealers.
