My day begins at 4am. Im a personal trainer at the Miramar 24-hour fitness. On my way to subway/home from work by SDSU I get the red and blues. Its 9:45pm. Been a long ass day/week. I pull over turn off the car and turn my dome light on as a courtesy. Officer gets out and says:
Cop: Goodevening young man where are you headed.
ME: Goodevening to you too Sir. I'm headed to Subway, I just got off of work.
Cop: Where do you work (clearly still in my uniform with name tag)?
ME: 24-Hour fitness miramar Im a personal trainer
Cop: What are you doing all the way over here?
ME: I live down the street and I was going to get some dinner before I got home.
Cop: Can I get your paperwork/ID?
ME: Here ya go
Cop: Thank you I'll be right back
Me: The pleasure is all mine
Cop: Have you been drinking at all tonight?
Me: NO. I dont drink alcohol sir. Its kind of against my ehtics as a fitness professional and since iIm training for the NFL I clearly dont drink.
Cop: You gettin smart with me boy?
Me: No sir
Cop: Step out of the vehicle
Me: (I step out)
Cop: Well you weren't lieing were you. You are one hell of a fit individual. Mind if I search you and your vehicle for drug paraphernalia.
Me: Be my guest
Cop: Are you always this polite?
Me: Yes sir.
After being frisked for everything and my car looked over I finally find out why I was being harrased.
Cop: Well the reason I pulled you over was because your 3rd tail light is burnt out. You gonna get that fixed soon?
Me: (no duh) Yes Sir.
Cop: well your free to go. Please dont drink and drive.
Me: Thank you officer.
Cop: Oh son do you have a business card? I'd like my son to start training for football. He's only in 8th grade and over weight. He needs to earn a scholarship for college.
Me: Here ya go. (looking forward to taking your money

)
Goes to show that cops are looking for you to give them a reason to make your life a living hell. Maintain a polite attitude regardless of the mods and what not. If you act courteous and let them try to play their games you can
walk away without any issues. This is my 6th time walking away from a police "interrogation" without a ticket because I was courteous and willing to help them.
