Default getting a ticket in cali.....

I got pulled over today by chp on the streets....he pulled me over just to pop my hood.....first he thought my car was to low..then I made him eat his words when he measured my head lights.....then he poped my hood and looked around.....my aem cold air is carb legal...and so is my msd....then he said my hardpipes dont have a carb number on it....I tell him but it has nothing to do with emissions its just intercooler piping....and he said its modified and we well let BAR decide that....so now I have to go to state ref to go get my brand new car smogged and visually inspected.....has anyone went to the state ref yet with their car....should I take off everything before I go....what should I do.... this shit sucks....

Had pipes carb certified...lol That is rediculous. I couldn't see them busting you for that. I will be suprised if they have a problem with it because as you stated, it is not emmissions related. Maybe he should check the stereo too.

hahahahhahhahhaahah oh man hahahahhaah the stereo...too funny... yeah man i wouldnt worry about the whole shin-dig...it's a piece of cake and especially for that... what they wanna see for the visual inspection is the original put back on but in your case the original looks like the modified just shinnier.. they are supposed to hook something up to it to see if it effects your emmisions reading but there is no possible way to do that so in your case, case dissmissed... then what you do next is grab your nuts and say have a nice fu$%ing day... then peel out and say "i'll be home late so tell your wife to save me a plate" he'll say your number one but in sighn language hahah

In California they have probable cause if they percieve the car to be modified due to the vehicle code and street racing being illegal. IMO it is like racial profiling for cars. Just my .02

Thats exactly what it is. When I had my modded 5.9L Jeep (ran low 13's). I could go to street races and watch with no problems. When the cops came and broke everything up. They searched everyones cars, wrote tickets like crazy, and they just let me drive right out without any questions. The bad part was that I had more mods than most of the people there and was running headers w/straight 3" Exhaust.. It definately was not fair at all.
