ok so heres the deal. ive been driving my 04 srt4 for a while now and it seems that i tend to run out of gas sooner than expected. ok pump full tank....drive around normally i get about 160 miles to the tank. (80% city)..pump it up..i pump about 7.5 gallons. i let it click twice before finishing the pump .and that is from empty..proably pump 5-10 miles after gas light comes on..does that seem kind of little to u guys (gallons of gas).
any info on what could cause this? |

A regular Srt tank holds 11-12 gallons. If you arnt filling up to that point from gas light. Might want to check the canisters see if someone before you didn't put the tap in the slot. Where it belongs if you don't do that then will get inaccurate. Reading on gas gague. Also not sure but fuel sending level gague might be going out or bent
On stock Turbo I avg 230 out of a tank with city and freeway mix. That was till gas light came one and couple miles into it

im roughly the same...i was gonna actually post something about the milage. because for some reason i think I'm getting less milage than normal...i don't boost much at all. and I'm averaging about 19mpg from and full tank i get roughly 180miles...which is low i think.
what are you going averaging with your SRTs?? |

My gage is wackey to, the low light comes on and I go fill it up and it only takes between 8 and 8.5 gallons. I'm getting about 20 miles a gallon around town, do not get into boost much. I have had the car since 2006 and always been the same.

These cars will tend to get better mileage with boost leaks, less volume of air=less fuel. These cars don't have MAF sensors so they don't care about the air lost through boost leaks.

damn...can any of you guys help me how, why i am getting so low mpg...
Nazkar - you've got something out of whack to only get 19 mpg. Spark plugs would have to be little metal nubs on the electrode tip and wires would have to be WORTHLESS to be the culprit. Do you have a large gap on your plugs? Sounds like you might be running really rich. What custom tuning settings do you have if any? Big fat heavy underinflated wide tires? You should be able to see 25 mpg on a normal 80 freeway/20 city/boost. |
