The new track is 60 foot wide with 330 feet of perfectly flat concrete and the track is very smooth as they used a special blend of asphalt from 330 to the sand trap. No more sideways burnouts either!! This is going to be one awesome venue with no sun in your eyes anymore. So far the schedule will call for additional asphalt early next week around the starting line, a paint stripe job, a soap and water scrub before a good VHT treatment and then they will begin dragging the track. Dave was personally installing the K rail barriers when we left at 2:30 this afternoon.
These pictures were taken from Cherry Ave. If you look about 1/2-mile out you will see two light in color stripes, those two stripes are over 300' of concrete starting line. These pictures are aiming perfectly to the west.

Wow I can imagine its going to be a waiting list to get inside and run, the only thing I hated that they started doing was closing the track at 5 or 6pm. Instead of having it stay open late til 10:30 or 11pm and open at 9am like it use to. Hopefully the new track will stay open later

Too bad we won't be able to use it until July and then not until Sept after that. Subject to change but I doubt it will change very much.
No more setting sun in your eyes. Plus if you look there's about twice as much room for parking/pits and if they put in a full lighting system, then they will run Street events into the night.
Looking forward too it, but by the time I actually get there I would have ran better times elsewhere.
I also hope the traction will be better than before, alot better.
