Default Flush Coolant

Hey, I'm going to try and flush my coolant system today. Anyone ever find that damn petcock that you use to bleed the coolant system? I've looked for it a couple times down there and can never find it. Thanks!

I have just over 27000. But I wanted to add some water wetter, and figured I would just flush the coolant system. Yeah, and to add insult to injury, I just went outside to change my oil, and my drain plug is stripped!!!! Damnit! and it's too late to try and take it to Dodge. Got any ideas?

you're better off waiting til the dealer opens up again and get a new drain plug. make sure and look at the plug before you leave. i had some guys try and give me the wrong plug because the numbers in the computer have two different part #'s. as far as the coolant flush goes, i used a flush machine, when i did mine, but i don't recall ever seeing a petcock. you might have to disconnect the lower radiator hose and drain it that way. the water wetter does work pretty damn well, just do a lower coolant to water ratio. probably like a 30% coolant 70% water and the bottle of water wetter.

good luck,
chris

Any ideas to try and get the plug off? I tried with a couple of different wrenchs and couldn't get it to budge.

Yeah, that's what I tried already. Robogrips, and a pipe wrench already, nothing worked. I'm thinking of filing a notch in the plug then using a screw driver to get it out.

that could work. you could also use a hack saw to make new edges for a wrench to grab onto.
