Well I was upgrading my air intake. Didn't want to make a $250 + outlay for it. So I grabbed an ebay intake from free terminal time at work.
The product is just fine, but the FIT is a little mediocre, but no worse than that. Just after the install, it started to RAIN, so no test drive in my clean ACR until the clouds are gone. ONe little plastic part broke, so a few zip ties entered. Test drive comments soon..........

be careful with that intake coming so close to the battery terminal. i think i remember reading a while back about a guy having that happen and started a fire. at the very least its gonna rub the hell out of that pipe and the positive terminal cover.
I remember when the Magnum was first released. I was ready to buy one for the wife...... But she said it looked too much like a station wagon. So there went that idea. So now when she see's one on the street she tells me, we should have bought one. It makes me want to falcon punch her everytime she says that.........................

The top picture is somwhat misleading: I was snapping pix as the install was progressing, we moved the battery to the right about 3/8 of an inch, and there is at least 3/16 of an inch between the positive terminal cover and the aluminum pipe. The intake is SECURE and shouldn't move around enough to rub on the battery.

that would be me.
i had a kinetic intake. the mount broke and it tipped over and hit the terminal. i had a lil bit of oil on my valve cover, so the spark ignited that. and POOF! shit went into flames.
I got the same intake but red and I had to modify the dam thing to get it to fit but better than the typhon k&n piece of crap.
i've had my k&n for almost 4 years and only until recently did i have a problem. mainly cause i've taken it out and put it back in so much that the tab that supports the intake off the valve cover broke. other than that, no problems and just need a new one of those dry sock thingies.

The k&n intake didn't gave me any problems but it was holding my car back with that 2.25 size as soones I put that 3" I could feel the car respond better on throttle and top end.
true it will restrict at the top end, but the smaller diameter helps with air velocity which helps in low and mid range. my driving needs rely more on low and mid so top end is not a priority for me. it is good though for us to throw our .02 cents in so all the newbs can buy a better product for what they want to do with their car.
