Default DC Performance - SCT Dealer/Tuner!

Chris is an experienced tuner of Vipers and various other cars and is a former Chrysler service tech.

I took a cruise down to DC to talk to Lyle, then I spoke with Chris. He is on the forums by the way.

I am about to install S3R and Conserv fuel just started pumping E85.

I wanted to convert the 100 octane HOM tune to work with E85 since it has a lower burn rate and higher octane (and cost LESS!) which would mean more boost and more timing within reason of course of the stock injectors.

Anyway, the point of this post was to inform any of you that are interested in getting your car tuned with the SCT software by somebody that's familiar with Chrysler PCM, contact me via PM and let's get this going!

They do not have the SRT-4 update to the SCT software yet and are basically waiting for more interest from potential customers.

Both men basically told me if I could get a couple of us together to help defer the cost the software upgrade, he'll not only tune the cars but cut us a deal on the flasher(s) needed to store/tune and flash each car.

There are a few SCT dealers in Southern California but almost NONE with the SCT software for the SRT-4.

If your in the LA area this is a plus since you won't have to drive all the way out to say Corona to get your tuning done and if you have S2 or S3 and want to jump on the E85 bandwagon with me, the more cars tuned the more potential power created and information database, instead of spreading internet urban myths.

DC Performance: Proven Performance

Until there is E85 in Corona and/or Fontana, you wont see me ever converting.

dj4, are you going to sct flash a s3 computer, or still use a 2004 ecu?

I have a '03 PCM and the S3 I believe is for an '03 as well. I also have the stock PCM.

I was thinking about copying the S3 tune to the stock PCM and play it with it while the car runs the stock S3 program until the tune is finalized.

There still many parts of the SCT tuning software that are unsolved and need further testing.

Conserv is a bit out of the way, however for $2.69 racing fuel, its worth the drive and available at times that racing gas from the can is not.

Plus it just better than 100 octane unleaded for performance use.

I need a show of hands and cash in hand.....

I am not going to quote pricing as I don't have final pricing but figure on $370 or less for the XCal2 + Whatever your tune cost.

I would say WAY under $700 total, could be even less.

Since Chris is not completely building maps from scratch it shouldn't take more than a couple of dyno pulls to get the tune that will work best.

On converting 100 HOM to E85 HOM -

That will depend if we can play with the S3 program. If we can pull it from S3 PCM, then you should be able to edit it and flash it back into the S3 PCM. But I am not sure if the software can copy, edit and flash Staged 2/3 or just copy the program. If it can just copy, I can flash it into my S0 ECU.

The other idea was to reprogram my S0 PCM and put an E85 tune in it. If I can connect the Toys up to it, that would be great, but I wouldn't be shocked if you couldn't.

If that is the case, then I can swap PCM's as a work around until a more elegant solution comes along.

Despite this or anything else, you still have the stock calibrations and the car will otherwise run better than stock and it cost about a 1/3rd as much as a full stand alone plus tune.

Now that your Tax Rebate from Bush has been finalized, you use the bulk of that $600 check on this, since that was the purpose of the rebate anyway.
