Default car is totaled

damn this sucks and it was all because of something soooooo god damn stupid. all because of my floor mat bunching up. got off from work and was on my way home, just got on the on ramp to the 73 and traffic started to back up. was going about 60 and went to press the brake and the car wasn't slowing down. got on the brake more and then the car went into a skid, bounced off two guardrails and came to a stop. both driver side wheels came completely off and the car is demolished to say the least. no other cars were involved thank god and only my shoulder is sore and i have a cut on my hand. its hard to believe the car is done.

sad thing is that i was gonna have the car paid off by july. only have $1200 left to pay on it. damn, almost 4 years and the car is done. now i need to find a pos car for transportation in the mean time and i'll figure out what i want to do with the insurance money later. i'm also scared to see what this will do to my rates. man this sucks, but i still count the blessings no one else was hurt. all because of a stupid ass floormat.

anyways, if any of you guys in the socal area know of a dirt cheap car that is running, please let me know. i'm talking like $1k or less. the less the price the better.

Wow what a freak occurence.

At the very least you can rest assured that it was definitely the floor mats getting bunched up under the brake pedal and not just reckless driving that did this.

i have a shitty camera phone pic, but i will probably take pics of it when i go by the tow yard to get my personal stuff out of it tomorrow.

they were the stock mats, just the plastic thing that holds the mat in place was broke. i moved the mat cause a pen had fallen down earlier and this was the result. i could see this happening if i was driving like a retarded kid, but i wasn't. its sad cause this car was a present to myself when i was getting out of the navy. it was the first new car that I bought with my own means. i've traveled multiple times between socal and montana, most recently to boston and back out here, driven in the canyons, and recently got into rallyx and the car made it home alive every time. now its dead. all i know is that i am going to miss this car. i had a lot of fun in it and have a lot of memories with it. i also had a lot of plans for it and that is what makes it feel worse. no offense cause i love these cars, i don't think i'll try and get another srt. as much as i loved it, i need something different. maybe i should get the pinto and make it like the waynes world car........hey at least my sense of humor didn't die with the car.

Yeah, I have this OCD thing with stuff anywhere near the driver's seat while I'm driving in fear it will end up under the brake pedal not allowing me to stop. I'm sorry that happened though, Look at it this way, you're alive and you're going to get a new car man.

surprisingly, after it was ripped off, it stayed relatively in one piece. the front bumper was way more less fortunate.

i didn't have my wing on, so if someone needs the wing, shoot me an offer. it has a couple scratches on it, but still looks good. if you got some scratchx, they might come out. i also have my original rotors with plenty of life left. i just upgraded to the powerslots. not sure what all i'll be able to take off the car, but i'll let you guys know as soon as i do. basically its gonna be sold for scrap, so what ever i can take off of it i'll be putting towards the coolest hooptie in the world.

Dont worry about your rates. They probably wont go up at all. You didnt have no coliision with opther vehicles and such.

I know since i flew off the road one time and bent my lower driverside radiator support and my bumper went to shit. Insurance cut me a check and they never even reported it or taxed my insurance rates.

Now if i wouldve have hit a car or something then yes ide worry about it. good luck!
