Default Busted at work

"Subject: Internet Usage

Company-wide, we have internet tracking software. We are able to tell what sites are visited, by whom, and for what duration.

Surfing the net and visiting forums on company time is counter-productive to our business should not be done on company time - it is OK with me at lunch, or after hours.

If further checks indicate the activity hasn't stopped, I'll have to either block the sites and forums most frequently visited, (which will preclude you from doing it on your own time) or make master list of the sites allowed.

I'd rather not do either - so please - only at lunch or after work.

Thanks."

So, that's why I haven't been around very much. But now I got a new Job, that starts on Monday. More money, better benifits, and lots of perks (company provides: SUV, gas card, laptop, digital camera, american express card, Blackberry Nextel phone, and more). I'm Jazzed.

Check out the new company:

Thanks Jason. I'm really excited. They haven't got me my perminent SUV so they got me a rental Nissan Armada (that thing is huge, pretty cool though, especially since I don't have to pay for gas).

We need to have another get together. I got to check out your new turbo. You'll need to give me a ride. How's Taylor and the wife doing?

Hey ap-evo8, I haven't seen or talked to you in awhile. Yeah I did the "tail light thing" (stretch tint). Even got a few of the locals to do the same. Are you going to the ST-Motorsports Dyno Day?

Freakin' ridiculous when companies pull that shit. If people weren't at the forums they'd be talking shit at the water cooler or chatting it up with the gals in the typing pool.

My company uses . It is an automonitoring application. Every company that uses a Proxy based WAN connection is going to have a way to monitor all IP's and there traffic. If the work group is small enough they can Micro-manage your Inet usage. Out company is so large they just block and Randomly take a remote snap-shot of our TASK MANAGER'S APPLICATION list.

I don't think my old company was that formal with specific software. I noticed it became and issue after the latest version of corprate Nortons was installed on our serve. Or maybe thats just what the guy told me. Who cares, I'm move'n on to big and better.

Yup I work for a network consulting company and we implement websense on a regular basis. We don't have it in our office yet but unfortunately my task is to set up the server on Monday eh guess I should be working at the new job rather than surfing forums ha ha

The newest version of Symantec/Norton Corporate also detects spyware.
The military uses websense also, along with a myriad of other things.
