Default Better Tracks Ahead - Auto Club Tracks to re-open soon

Let's get some dialog started -

LACR is the only full 1/4 mile open in Southern California and that's not a good thing.

Repaving has been finished at Auto Club Raceway@Famoso (near Bakersfield) and the next Friday Night Drags are May 12th.

The re-location of California Dragway is alegatly completed and the next NHRA Street Legal event at the much LARGER facilty is May 22nd if everything holds in place.

May is mod month for me and I'm going to hit 13's somewhere, most likely Famoso (625ft) and that is most likely my first stop.

Anybody else willing to attend?

I know Dcsax made the trip alone and ran 13.6 in an otherwise stock SRT-4 minus suspension mods, so I know as long as I don't fug up driving, 13's should be mine with Stage 1 and a few undisclosed mods and maybe slicks, but most likely drag radials.

I know most of the posters on this board will not make the trip, but honestly from the valley floor to Mcfarland isn't that far.

Most of you may be waiting for May 22nd and the re-opening of Auto Club Raceway@California Dragway. Hopefully they will be able to host alot more cars and get more runs by being open longer. Its always crowded anyway, but I hope the traction which historically hasn't been the best at California Speedway. I think the new surface will help alot, since its not just the parking lot with a 100 ft concrete pad...

Anybody interested in a big SRT-4 meet there?

May will be a good month all around for SRT-4 owners in SoCal, better weather and better tracks to play on.

I just called the California Speedway # and it says they just started construction and that it will be finished the end of May. So with my pessimistic ass analyzing things it will be done in July.

FONTANA is going to suck by the time they open it. If they don't fire it up soon it's going to be 100+ degrees out there again. My car did 14.2's @99 when it was that hot, stock in the colder temps it did 14.06 @101.5..I'll have stage 2 with toys by the time it opens, i want to know what it does in colder temps...guess i'm going to have to wait it out.
