Default attention 2003 owners..

do we have to smog this year? I thought it was three years after you buy a new car, but i got my registration paperwork a few weeks ago and it doesn't say anything about smogging my car.

on the back it mentions "if the front of this form reads 'SMOG certification required', you may take your vehicle to any smog check station."

but it says nothing about smog on the front. no smog image, no text.. nothing.

Default smog

It was originally 4 years after you purchase a new vehicle, you have to smog it. They changed it to 7 years, last year. You have 4 years to go. If I am not mistaken.

if it doesnt say. i dont think you dont. when you go pay at the dmv they will ask you for. it also depends on what month of 2003 you bought the car. i think if it was boght closely to the end of the year it might need it next year.

I just paid my reg and it didn't say anything. I believe its true that it used to be 4 years after purchase, but now its 7 years after purchase.

heh. hey! no. i'm not dead. just been busy.

ooh.. if it was 7 years.. that would be awesome! if it's 4.. thats better than 3. that saves me a couple hundred bucks. i'd have to get a downpipe with a cat on it, and put in my stock computer.

you guys just made my day! w00t!
