Default Act 6 puck help. Clutch not fully disingaging etc.

i just installed a used act 6 puck sprung clutch kit with supposidly only 20 miles on it. Joe dirt told me that there was burn marks on the disc and the fly wheel was chipped. i had him install it any way to see if it would work. heres my problem, it is almost impossible to shift it into first and reverse and almost as hard to shift it into 2nd,3rd etc. with the car off it shifts like butter but when its on its inrcredoubly difficult. When you push the clutch pedal all the way in and leave it there while stopped it will stutter and make kind of a grinding noise like the clutch isnt fully disingaging, this happens in all gears but is far worse in 3rd and 4th. when you take your foot off the gas pedal and listen while your coasting you can hear a very very faint grinding noise coming from what i can only guess is the tranny. when driving in gear it makes no noises and drives fine.

i know this is kind of confusing but its the best way i can describe it.

also my stock clutch exploded in my tranny and after that happened it was also extremely hard to put it into first.

Have you spoken with Mr. Dirt? Have you adjusted the clutch to see if that helps?

Also, was it modular style clutch or does it use an aftermarket flywheel?

Finally, where is my Boost Leak Tester?

I spoke w/ joe dirt and this is in no way shape or form his fault. He didn't even know what was happening. I did adjust the clutch pedal and it didn't help. And it's an HD pressure plAte and it's 6 puck sprung.

And your boost leak tester is in my trunk.

ACT clutches are non modular so it uses the act flywheel.

I was not at all blaming Joe D....I thought he might have some ideas.

The reason I ask if it was a modular vs. non-modular clutch is cause I had an issue with a non-modular clutch "resting" on the stock flywheel bolts which was causing "engagement" when there shouldn't have been. Unfortunately, only way to check this is to take it apart and it would not be my first thought as to your issue.

Did you check and make sure your clutch slave cylinder is working properly (fully disengaging the clutch)?

I know I was just saying because he installed it so that can rule alot of things out because he installed it correclty. How do I check the clutch slave cylinder? And could it be because the flyweel was chipped?

Basically the gist of it is that when the clutch pedal is depressed all the way touching the floor the car stutters like it's still in gear. And I can't shift into reverse and all the other gears have to be forced especially 1st to get into gear

You can check the slave cylinder by jacking up the front of the car and on the front facing side of the transaxle, there is a rectagular rubber piece that you can remove (basically where the slave cylinder is connected to the trans). When removed you should be able to see where the slave cylinder rod pushes on the TOB fork. While looking at this, have someone step on the clutch pedal and check for full movement of the rod. Not an exact thing but something you can check before you have to pull the trans again.

Not sure if there is a trans issue that could be causing this as well. I don't think it would be because of the flywheel being chipped but I am not an expert.

Your clutch has probably had it. How long did it take him to swap it out for you?
