Default One of you please explain this....

http://www.srtforums.com/forums/show...58#post3794058

Because I can't....and I'm BS right now.

*edit*
Yes the rubber piece that "spaces" the intake was on the battery tray. That was the reason for the dent near where it sat against my positive terminal. And the reason for the OTHER hole, from the turbo coolant line.

As crappy as that is, yours is not the first I have seen on here to break like that. You would think AEM would do something to fix it.

You would think....but not everyone thinks... o.O AEM included. Wasn't this the intake that was the cause for major engine fires due to a ground-out? Then they "re-designed" it?

Nice redesign...thats all I have to say.

I did call them up, but you would think being a supporting vendor they would frequent their own forum? I guess not. LOL

dont bolt it up... cut the bracket off to avoid it getting caught or putting stain on it...

ive seen this problem before... usualy only on higher torque cars when the engine kicks it puts pressure on the bracket... most of the time it will break the mount that AEM uses (two sided thread w/rubber center)
look like this:
-[]-
usually when you have solid motor mounts this problem is no longer an issue... im wondering if this one is caused by vibration... or maybe a need for a solid tranny mount... sure would be nice if AEM could chime in.

Well AEMTECH has not logged on since 9/8/05 almost a year ago. So I would not look for them to all of a sudden start posting. I'm not a welder so I could be wrong but it looks like the weld was done at to high or a temp for the thin metal that is used and it caused fatige.

Funny, I can't get a AEM tech even on the telephone

Maybe they are "too big to care" anymore!

wow girl that sucks, i guess by redisigning for a problem they created another, i am pretty happy with my JMB ultimate, you get the best cold air designe (less bents) and weight reduction all in one CAI, i just brought that up incase you deside to dump the aem and go a diff rout the JMB would be they way to go.

Well now.. if we are allowed to give "Kudos" (good info/quality) about other peoples products here ( and since as someone said, the AEM Tech hasn't even logged on here for a YEAR.. so they must NOT care that much), then I think the AGP CAI is the BEST one out there! (No CARB for CA drivers, though ) It fits great, it looks great. It sits lower than the AEM(which I had).

Just my opinion. Not trying to put any other product/company down.
