Default AEM a Bad fit!!

Well i bought my CAI from JRP in Toronto Canada and was all happy to put it in having had many AEM intakes on my Honda cars before. They were always a great fit and proved good numbers and Quality. This intake for the SRT-4 is unfortunately the worst fit i have seen, which is unusual coming from such a good company. Problems i had are as follows:

1.Pipe from the turbo sits to high and rubs in 2 spots on the inside of the hood, creating damage to the pipe and hood.

2. The second pipe bracket does not line up with the rubber gromet mount.

3. The pipe going through the hole is off center.

4. And when the filter is fitted with the pipe it pushes on the inner fender liner very hard.

By no means am i an amateur installer being an apprentice and having installed many of these intakes. I spent 2 hours trying to adjust this in every way possible to get it to fit with no luck. I ended up zap strapping the crank case inlet to pull it down more put under high heat the plastic strap expands and it continues to rub under engine torque.

My solution for myself is i think i am going to contact AEM direct and try to get a new pipe and modifiy it some how to fit. This unfortunately seems to be a reacurring problem with many AEM SRT-4 intake and is not a result of poor installation.

I will post pictures when i get home.

Thanks
Mark
