Thats not good at all. Boy do I have a story to tell...

I installed mine last month, it was a brand new piece. The install was pretty straightforward but puting the coupler on the turbo was a pain, due to the vacuum line at the back of the turbo. Well anyways I had it on for a couple days and was driving my car one afternoon and my radio goes off and my abs light kicks on and my car jerks. I am like WTF. I pull over into a parking lot and inspect things....

Sure enough there is a pool of coolant underneath my car. I noticed it on my brand new intake too. I then look at my battery and sure enough the red protective cover somehow wedged up and my + terminal was eating away at the pading on the side of my intake and hit the intake. Thus creating a arc to my intake to my coolant line

I had a nice hole in my steel coolant line. Had the car towed to a local shop and the line they needed was on backorder... So a week later I get my car back... My $170 intake turned into a $380 intake due to the damn battery being so close.

Make sure you move the battery as far to the right as possible and cover that damn red cover in electrical tape so it never flops up.

Well i have heard the horror stories but I have had the intake for over 3 years and never had a single problem. Yes the intake is close to the positive terminal but when you take your time and install it properly you will not have a problem. I have also removed the intake a couple times too and reinstalled it with no problems either
