Question Would you trade your Srt4 for the new 2006 Civic SI?

Like the title states... would you? It seems to be getting great reviews, and in my opinion looks very nicely done compared to the past one released . Now i know theres alot of anticivic/honda people on this board, but try to compelle yourselves not to trash the car just cause of its name. The only thing im not liking too much is the drive by wire throttle system. The cars with this system always seem to have this bit of hesitation, but other then that i think the new SI is a pretty nicely refined vehicle, i gotta say worlds ahead of the current MINI ODESSEY ( spell check ). I know some question why the hell would you trade a monster like the Srt for a Civic..... to the tell you the truth i dont know either, but the new SI is actually making me think of possibly selling the Srt and going on to something new.

When the concept came out, I thought hard about it. But seeing the actual production makes me laugh at myself for ever thinking that.

Absolutely not. May be a MazdaSpeed 3, but not a smaller 2 door. Not even a Cooper S, and i love those.

Now i know some of you might be look at just the pure power aspect of it all... we all know who wins in that department. But look at the SI as basically a everyday well rounded vehicle.. ya know. Trust me if i had the money id keep the Srt for grunt and have like a Altima or something,, but who da fook has money for that..lol

Anyone who would trade in their SRT-4 for a Civic Si obviously bought the SRT-4 for the wrong reasons...

I do think the Civic Si is a nice ride, but no way would I give up my car for it.

Search for pictures of the production version and the concept version. The concept was silver/cf.

Heres one from Sema that IMO looks pretty nice. Little ricey, but nice. Turbo'ing these is simple.

Add a blacked out grill, tinted black headlights (like the concept), and window tint, it would be a nice looking car. Theres no way I would be able to keep it N/A though.

I guess id have to go for a test drive and see how the thing really feels like before i make any real judgement on the car. It being a Honda though will be a sure thing that it will have aftermarket support.

It already does. I beleive the H22 turbo kits already fit this motor. Dont quote me, im not a Honda guy.

I sure would, for my car they would need to gibe me a new one, fully loaded plus about $15k cash....in other words not a snowballs chance in hell would I take 3 steps backwards................

Don't get me wrong nice cars in all, for an economy family hopper, but although these cars show good promise remember that it will be much like ours, lot of aftermarket and factory support just no warranty as soon as you install something. Now if they came turbocharged from the factory, with say at least 210 HP, but the turbo built block, I would consider it but any $20k car that the first thing I have to do is put $3k into the motor in parts to hold boost, isn't worth a damn in my book. It will be another case where the first thing they do is promise all kinds of cheap aftermarket stuff but when it comes time to deliver nothing is available, look what they did to the last Si they made, the one that looks like, well, my Ford Focus!! Nothing available for that and the money it takes to get it to move you might as well have bought a car that allready does it, Like an Sti, Evo, SRT-4, GTO, GT, hell must be over 30 options that can kick it's butt in every catergory goin...........
I like the style of the new Honda, in a few years depending on what becomes of it I might think of pivking one up, even if just for a NA daily driver/handler. But chances are I will find something that fills the go factor alot better, hell even that CObalt looks pretty good beside it. Take off supercharger, sell on Ebay, buy turbo kit.........

"The Cobalt firmly grabs you and whisks you along your way instantly. It does so with authority and poise, but while slipping relatively unnoticed through traffic, never being violent, or dare I say it, frightening. When you ask the SRT-4 to take you somewhere fast, it punches you in the face, throws you over its shoulder, and runs, screaming, so quickly that its tires can barely keep up."
