btw for reference the estimated MSRP i got for a decently equipped R/T was just under 23 grand. this includes AWD, leather interior package, removable rear seats, sunroof, refrigerated cooler bin
the r/t seems to be the best deal as it includes all the little things that add up quick..speed control, ABS, etc.
the diesel has a completely different description,.. so not likely that they even put the numbers in the wrong spot..

I would bet that's exactly what happened. Those numbers (especially the peak torque at 1750 rpm) are right in line for a diesel. There's no way in hell the 2.4 VVT gas motor only makes 134 hp and peak torque at 1750.

Jan. 6th is the official release date I believe. Should have the Caliber up around that point to build and price with the real options and prices. Ordering from dealers shortly thereafter? Going to be a fun winter and spring for new DCx vehicles!

Well actually they have the pre-production build and price up right now. I did it and you can option the hell out of it and it still be pretty decent. What caught me is that they gas-electric hybrid as and option?
i dont think a lot of that stuff is very concrete yet. if you read the fine print dodge is usingg the info they gather from this as a survey. meaning if a lot of people option that hybrid,.. perhaps it will be an option when they release finalized details.
also, deisel is an option, tho its only planned currently for europe.. maybe if enough americans were to take it...

I know, I've priced out a few different options. Some of the pricing is low for a given option, the paint colors don't have official names yet, a few other things that aren't finalized. What I meant was the final initial offerings would be available around that point, with other options like the diesel (needs to meet upcoming US emissions standards) and hybrid coming when the market demand is right.
