Default Why Is My Speedo Off?

I found out last night that my speedometer is off. I have aftermarket rims, but they are 17X7's so that wouldn't do it right? Has anyone else had this problem?

When I am doing 25 I am really doing around 35.
When I am doing 55-60, I am really doing about 72.

Any help would be appreciated. I think I am going to take it to the dealer, I just wanted yall's input.

if your tires are a different overall diameter than stock then your speedo will be off.

Neons.org has a tire calc

I have stock the stock tires on 17X7's. Well, I felt like it was off because of the traffic flow. I kept passing people while I was going under the speed limit. So my friend in his 06 STI was riding beside me and he was telling me his speed at every 5mph increment and that is what we got. I figure it has to be true because on the way home after that I really noticed it. I was doing 60 in a 70 and passing people.

That's a really bad error. You should get a correction done. If the dealer can't, I believe there is a guy here in the forum that is doing speedo recalibrations on an exchange basis.

^ yea, especially when they are stock tires. That means that it is off for no reason. I am pretty sure that it has been off since I got it off the sowroom. It now has 4,000 miles on it.

Default Why?

Your speedo is probably off because most girls don't like those kinds of swimsuits, so someone probably made you take it off : )

haha sorry I couldn't resist.
