I was on my way to work today and teh power went out at an intersection. This is what I dont understand. When the power goes out and the red flashing lights come on people seem to understand that its supposed to be like a stop sign(most people). Well this intersection the power was out completley, no lights at all. Obviously, at least for most people its supposed to be treated as a stop sign still. Well I stopped and started to make my left turn and I see this guy flying through the intersection like he has the right of way for some reason almost T boned me and this other car going the opposite direction of me. If I didnt see him coming and stopped my srt4 would have been no more. The guy actually had the nerve to flick me off when I pulled next to him. People are dumbasses. Sorry this is a pointless thread but I need to vent.
Follow him home and beat the crap out of him, his car, and his entire family with a tire iron.
Of course, I solve all my problems through violence. Even got the t-shirt.

No seriously. If people started seeing that their idiot actions on the road produce tangible, painful results for them and their family, then more and more will start driving in a safer manner.

In my opinion I am the 10% that know how to drive. Except the following. I never ever ever never ever go the speed limit. Even when theres a cop I will go at least 3mph above the speed limit. Also I dont use turn signals unless im right in front or right behind a person. Besides that Im a very considerate driver, I move out of the left lane on the freeway if someone needs to pass, and the thing that pisses me off the most I never block an intersection. In my opinion moving out of the left lane on the freeway and not blocking intersections is when you know a person is a considerate driver. And Im 18. Point is people in the world dont give a damn about anyone but themselves. Good bless America
yah the whole thing about doing the speed limit doesnt mean much, there is always a 5mph cushion, and the flow of traffic, driving conditions etc... but your right the most important part of falling into that 10 percent is being considerate of others, and making sure others see you.
my father always told me to drive like im invisible, and no one can see me, so i have to look out for everyone else, because even if you think they see you, you can never count on anything
and i hate the people that block intersections too, and the ones who dont pull to the left of the road to allow others the option to pass, but not going too far, like being in the oppoisite lane.

Same here. I'd be in jail right now if I carried a gun/weapon in my car. Plus, there would be ALOT of cars off the side of the road with shot out tires and radiators!!

I feel for you. Must be the same mentality of those who try to run the red while it is turning from yellow. At least you wasn't hurt for some bonehead. What make was he driving? Toyota or Ford?
However, if I had my truck, I just go on green no matter who is running the red. Scares the geebies out of that driver.

It was a pretty old guy in a new lincoln towncar. How sad I own a lincoln.
Of course there are people who just make mistakes, but are normally good drivers. You can't kill them for one mistake (that you saw anyway).
I accidently ran a red light in the snow once.. was so worried about all the snow (it was really bad), I just didn't see the red light until I was so close, that if i tried to brake.. I would not have stopped in time, and may have lost control (no anti-lock brakes on the old car). Other than that.. and a few other small things.. I drive pretty safely and I always let people merge and stuff. I do tend to mess with some of the people who seem to be in a real big hurry though, and are driving really assholeish.
