Amazing. Maybe Ford can build a new reputation of having better build quality if they bring some of these cars to the naturally more deserving America.
All we see are magazine articles saying how foreign cars are beating out domestics in yearly sales, maybe this is your reason. Dont you think for 1 second, GM, Ford, Chysler, that the American people would buy your cars more and more if they looked like this and were built like this.

I am not saying that what the big 3 offer in America is extremely bad, some cars are excellent, but you and I both know that they can do better.

Maybe they can shut out Honda, Toyota and Nissan if they work harder and bring quality to the states.

It's a sad day when your "American Company" doesnt give 2 shits about your business and just expects you to buy their crap. Thats why people who say they only buy American mesmerize me.

I don't think they will ever bring them here...I would buy the typhoon in a heartbeat I actaully like the way it looks and I hate the way fords are styled.
The will never bring either here due to the mustang. You can't upstage a "higher" level vehicle performance wise. I guess to campre it would have to go up against the cobra but either one would be cool as hell just to see them actually do something the consumer wants!
DCX had the "luxury" with the SRT-4 that there was no car to upstage other than a viper.

I can only hope that the SVT version of the Fusion while I hate the vehicle, since Ford is trying desperately to create hype with placement, will be a better contender than the Countour SVT was. Speaking of SVT I heard a rumor they were cancelling the lightning in favor of the sport trac SVT.

I wouldn't say that.
They DID release the Lightning which was a lot faster than the GTs of the time and ran with the Cobras.

With the new GT500 coming out they are going to have a hell of a lot of cushion for their top level Mustang compared to anything else.

Want to know why you'll never see those cars in the U.S.?

Current U.S. emissions laws. Europe and Australia have less restrictions than the U.S.
SO they can "get away" with things like these.
That new Focus has "Euro" written all over it. Can't want until I see one over here on an autobahn and stomp all over it. Of course, our SRT-4 brethren stationed in the Air Force in England will probably have first go. But at 220 PS (~217 HP), probably at the CRANK, it will be throwing down even less at the wheels stock from the factory.
But it IS turbocharged, which is a hell of a lot easier to make mad horsepower from than a supercharger (that's a fvcking hint to you, Cosworth!).
Worried? Hell no. Interested? Kinda. Wonder if this thing will be shown at the auto show in Frankfurt next month? If so, I'm all over it with the digicam.

220HP, guessing here based on the provided numbers, but it is too pathetic for the sport compact realm.

Though, SVT should of did it right years ago.

Am I missing something? It says 220PS, not HP.

PS stands for HP in German, although it is mostly Japanese companies that use it...go figure.
Rough translation .986PS = 1HP

Pferdestärke it literally means Horse Strength. You would know that if you knew about cars....shame...shame...
