Im looking for the cheapest car to mod as in "go fast mods" as in "quickest quater mile mods". I also want it to be RWD. I was thinking a 03-04 cobra. what do u guys think. the 350z would be nice but it cost to much to mod and does not respond that well to mods.
By far fox body 5.0! Everybody makes parts for them!! Anything you want and there fairly cheap too!
If thats an option?
The same could be said of a similar Camaro or Firebird. Basically anything with a small block - you could build an entire engine from aftermarket parts if you felt like it!

The first Corvette had a six cylinder engine.
The first Porsche was still very much a Volkswagen.
Lamborghini started out as a tractor company.
The original Mustang borrowed heavily from the Falcon parts bin.
The first GTO was a LeMans option package.
The EVO is based on the Lancer.
The R32 is based on the Golf.
The SRT-4 is based on the Neon.
Judge not humble beginnings...

True! 350 parts are everywhere. Just seems like as far as suspension and body the fox body seems to have a better aftermarket. I might be wrong though
i was thinking hte 03-04 cobras have more potential in reaching 10's in the quater and then some
you can easily run 10's in a cobra ...
i knew someone that had a cobra and had like 2g's into and it had 600 whp (intake, exhaust, pulley, tune and drag radials) ... then he added a 150 shot of nitrous & he had over 700 tq

needless to say, his car was insane
Factor in the pricetag of it though...
Cheap and fast RWD car is the foxbody. Pick one up dirt cheap.. throw 2k in mods.. And you are booking it.
I'm curious what would happen with the 2.0 turbo Solstice in the right hands, they were like high 20's new last time I checked.
I duno your budget, but I have seen some nice GTO's and C6's with turbo kits
I doubt it is THE cheapest route, but they move along.
C6's are pretty cheap for what they are, running low 12's at like 116 stock, and can be had for just over 30k used now.
