Default what should i get 03 04 or 05

alright im the that my car just got stolen in front of my house and asked if i should get a wrx or srt-4. I made my decision and its going to get and srt-4. I live in the las vegas nevada. SRT-4 is hard to find around here. Iono what should i get because the used 03 and 04 here are almost the same price as a brand new 05 srt-4. The 05 would be my first Brand New Car but insurance might be pricey than the used. And it would be my first Manual Transmission car. Thinking about lifting the car up with hydralic jacks or something if i get the car and bring up the car and practice driving in the air and getting use to stick before i go on the street with it putting support under it and having my stepdad teach me. And wondering is it true alot of Americans cars always have alot of problems. Hopefully the srt-4 wont have alot of problems because my last car i had to get new radiator replace like 4 times, a/c hose, transmission replace, and the tranny hose was leaking while i was driving one time which suck as because i was pushing the gas and it didnt go at all and i was in the middle of traffic

if you can get an 05 for the same price as an 04 or 03 go with the 05 the insurance shouldnt be different, and if you do buy used get the 04 its a better car, if had my car for close to a year and i havent had any problems and most people dont there pretty reliable, im not to sure about your problem driving stick, but my suggestion borrow a friends car and ruin there clutch lol

Maybe I'm missing something, but why would you lift the car up to learn? why not just have somebody drive you to an empty parking lot?

I'm on my second SRT-4 and have never had a single problem. That engine is built like a tank. You REALLY have to abuse the hell out of it to cause any harm. Dodge did a great job in designing the SRT-4 engine/tranny. And depending on your age and driving record, insurance for the 05's are not that much different than the 03/04 years. Most insurance companies still regard the SRT-4 as a basic neon!!

Not to hijack khmerb0ix7o2's thread, but I want to re-state one of his questions.

How's the reliability of the car? Does it have alot of problems or is that just BS? I am also thinking about getting a SRT-4 and would like to know the answer to this question. I've searched the forums and only found that people with modded SRT-4's are the ones with problems. How about stock SRT-4's? Any problems?

Thanks from a newbie!

My SRT-4 has relatively few performance mods, all i have is motor mounts to cut down on wheel hop and the HKS hardpipe and blowoff, it runs great

You will eventually have to mod the car once you become addictive....LOL

Most of the modded cars do not have problems if you spend the time on maintenance.
