Hey,
I need advice and I figured 32000 people is a big enough group to ask. My sob story is as follows: My SRT hasn't run in a year and may--doubtful here--run before i leave for Irvine in two weeks. My beater Neon is toast, and I need a replacement. On the table are a variety of MT Passats--my family used to have two of them, and I learned to drive on one of them so I am partial to them, and a MT 2002 Jetta VR6. In addition I've driven the Scion Tc, which isn't a bad little car. I'm going to try to find a used E36 M3 for less than either but it's a crap shoot. The SRT is coming off the insurance so I can afford to insure damn near anything with that gone.
Damn near impossible. After having my low 13 second SRT-4 put back to stock, I wanna' remod it so bad, but gas prices will not allow me to do so. I am wanting to get rid of it, to prevent my urge from spending more money on it...

I know the M3 is expensive, I should edit my post, I realize it's irrational to expect it. The SRT is probably too expensive, and I've already been bitten by the mod bug.
I think I'll try and get the tc but we'll see.
The SRT is a touchy subject. No need to bring it in here, I'm at the end of the line with that thing as it is. The clutch arm pivot broke, and the arm itself was 148 dollars. For a fucking metal spar, 30 on a normal Neon. God. Damnit.
Subaru Legacy GT limited....go test drive one Leather and 5 speed all for 26k BRAND NEW
this car always gets brought up but ive never seen a thread where someone bought it. would you? some reason i dont think this is the car people want that also buy srt4s..
Get the tC. I know ALOT and I mean ALOT of people who own VW's. ALL of them have had trouble with them. Every single one. Some of them always seem to be falling apart. Driver's window suddenly fell back into the door on a brand new GTI and got stuck there, waste gates (thats right.. plural) going out on my brother's turbo jetta, etc. And all of my friends say they've had trouble with dealerships doing warranty work. Honestly, I'd steer clear of VW. I hate saying that because I grew up LOVING vw's! Sad to see VW falling into crap these days.
I'm sitting beside my friend who owns a vw jetta 1.8t, and he loves it. Never has any problems, and runs real smooth. They're very nice cars, but yes if they do break they are hard to repair.
