because of limited prod. and rarity (mopar hemi motors) most mopars are well into the 30k and up...
Have you ever heard of an AMC AMX? theyre extremely rare and well built, but they were made by amc (american motors corp) and they werent part of the big three. AMC had a heritage of grocery getters, so when it introduced its 2 seater American Motors Experiment (amx) with 325 hp and ungodly torque, nobody noticed. not even the aftermarket world, but thats slowly changing, edlebrock and holley are making kits for amx's alot more on parts that you would never eve think of having on a amx ten years ago.
what im getting to is you can have one hell of a good looking car thats fast, rare, and who's value i only going to increase(one special edition amx went for 50 thousand on the barret jackson auctions), for really cheap. These cars still fly under the radar alot and nobody still knows about them really, so theyre harder to sell. that equals easy for you to buy! my dad bought his beautiful '70 amx for 2 grand. it was mint. it is still fast as heeell.
theyre also lightweight, compared to other cars of its time. want more info pm me or go to www.cardomain.com/id/88daytonashelbyz and look at the amx's i have on the third page.
Im willing to bet the people who dislike them old cars, have never owned/worked or restored on one of their own. I currently have two "project" cars, (67 Chevelle Conv. & 67 Cadillac 2dr.), just finished puttin new dual exh. on the Caddy Sat.w/ 2 chamber Flowmasters...it sounds EVIL ......both of my "classic" car's get 10 TIMES more look's than the SRT!.........._____5TOEZ_____
1964 Buick Riviera with 401 Nailhead BLK on BLK on BLK all options even PS, PW, AC and more
i also still have a 73 vega wagon with 396 fully built, 73 lotus elite (still in progress with resto, and i flipped my 67 chevelle due to a drunk driver hitting the ass end and causing me to go sideways and it slicked the mickey's under and flipped it...i miss that prostreet damn)
ok, good. for a second i thought that i was in the twilight zone. then again, i am 32 and i remember these cars from when i was growing up. the guy that lived across from me had an old amx, man that thing was LOUD and FAST!
correct on the "grin value"...there is something to be said about working on these old cars, and it is hard to rival the thunder from a big block.
even though it wont be as fast as a modded, modern car, (maybe )i want the satisfaction of owning/maintaining/driving one of these dinosaurs before they disappear.
