The wiring for the SAB is in every neon, so all you'd need to do is plug them in, but be forwarned, once you plug them in, you can not remove them without having an airbag system fault.
IOW, once the airbag electronic control module (AECM) sees the SAB, it expects to see them forever.

are you saying that if i take my sab seats out and swap in the viper my air bag light will stay on is there any way around this ?
I swapped viper for airbag seats yesterday. The swap went very smooth. They added the airbag modules, under the B-pillars and the center module (under the center console). After the swap, both cars displayed the airbag lite on the dash. The car that got my vipers will add the resistor most likely. I will go to dealer and see if they will flash for added side impact air bags. I believe this will be the end of this saga. I thanked the the air bag donor, as did my rear end.

Any chance you could write up a "how to" procedure on the seat swap when your finally completed? I think a bunch of us could really benify from this. Thanks. Mr Fast.
Remove both seats AND the AECM (oddly enough, I work with Airborne Expendable CounterMeasures, AECM) from car A and the Viper seats and AECM from car B, and swap all the components, is that good?
I'm assuming since the AECM that is expecting SABs will still see them, since it moved with them.
Oh, and for the record, and Doc, correct if I'm wrong as always, but the side airbags are completely contained within the seats, sensors included in the SACM, right?
For more details, ace04srt and Big Woody are doing this tonite, stay tuned

I used to own one of the first SRT-4s sold, bought it new in Feb 2003, sold it Nov 2006 with 75K and Stage 3. Now I drive a 2006 SRT-8 Charger.
How did things work out last night on the swap? Thanks!

Mike (ace04srt) stopped by a short while ago. Swap went well, he does indeed have an airbag light, as does the other car. Shocker, Doc was right
There are side modules in addition to the ones in the seats. Sit in the seat and let your hand drape down next to it. There is a bulge in the plastic trim piece that covers the door sill about where you hand should fall. Under that bulge is the modules, one per side, and they must go into the same side they came from.
Mike is going to see about checking codes at Azone, none come up with the key. Later , maybe next weekend, he'll have access to a DRBIII, more info then about maybe doing away with the light.
All this info is courtesy of ace04srt and Big Woody.
In the car from which the SAB seats came, you can put a resistor plug where the seat connector is to make the AECM happy during it's self-test.
In the car into which the SAB seats are going, you'll have to transfer the side impact sensor modules into the B-pillar and plug in the seats... I don't know for sure if this will 'enable' the seats or if they are enabled only in the plant when they 'wake up' the car's control modules. You might have to visit the dealer and use the StarScan tool to reconfigure the AECM...
You really shouldn't be messing with the AECM and such... God-fobid you get in an accident one day.

glhs: AECM is Chaff and Flare ?? It's been a long time since I loaded one of those modules... 2W0X1 forever, man.
