An Update of Rumors: 2008 Dodge Viper

JALOPNICK AUTO BLOG - - The guys at Allpar have updated their file of whispers on the next-gen “ZB” Dodge Viper, which is expected to roll out early in 2007, but skipping directly to the 2008 model year. According to an unnamed insider

[added...which one? Moparman, PVOman, or Hemi?], the next Viper will have a “whole new front end that’s sharper and more menacing” as well as the McLaren-Tuned V10 from the ASC Diamondback Viper, a rumor substantiated by AutoWeek earlier this year. A debut of sorts is reportedly planned for this fall in Vegas (where else?).

This new viper is going to be sick. I have read something saying that the power maybe bumped to 650hp. It is tiime to sell the evo and start saving money.

Why can't Dodge or DCX as a whole make a decent V10? Lamborghini did the original V10 and now the new one is going to be done by McLaren?

The orginal motor was designed and engineered by Dodge truck engineers. It was intended to be a Ram truck motor [diesel] and later was added and modified for a new halo car not built since the 60s.

Technically Lambo was used for engineering work same as McLaren since they are a prime sub-contractor for MB Motorsports.
