Default A Turbocharged Mitsubishi Mirage?

So, a guy is running around talking ALL kinds of smack about my car and his Mirage being able to toast it.

I'm getting too old for this so I'm wondering if I should even give him the time of day. It's a T25 1.8L@6-8psi. Home done job so IDK if it runs well.

I'm bored and just figured I'd get some input

Don't bother. I'd be absolutely shocked. I owned a Mirage for several years and looked into turbo charging it, and from what I and my friend found the best gains were in the 225 range from the Australian kits (where as I understand it they auto-cross Mirage's a LOT). For his kit, I dunno, but as a previous owner, I'd be shocked if a home made turbo kit could even run close to us stock.

Have you seen the engine? Cause it is possible to do a 4g63t swap into them... And those fuckers can run, I've got a buddy with one. They also made a turbo mirage, but only like.. 2500 were made here in the states.

x2 on the 4G63. You will most likely get pwned. No explaining needed, its the motor from the evo/eclipses in a lighter car.

I was assuming stock engine, I forgot that swap is not uncommon in that car.

And the turbo Mirage was a what 85 and 89? Hatchback I think? Still fairly slow also

I'm almost certain it's not swapped. This kid doesn't have the time, brain or money to do that anyway.

It's a 1.8L with a T25. I think he said it was off of his junked GS-T.

What do I look for telling me it's a 4g63t?

No problem, and not worht the time. What you need to wory about are the Galant VR4s, ultimate sleepers because not to many know of those.

i would like to see a swapped car like that run for the simple reason that im about to swap an evo 7 motor in my gf's 2001 eclipse and make it the sleeper of the family. may not do the whole swap as ive actually learned a few things but nonetheless if its a truely swapped car, id like to see the outcome

Good luck. If its anything like the 4G63T swap into a 2G Eclipse, its pretty much cheaper to just BUY the car. Not to mention the 3G eclipses are the ugliest runts of the car industry(coming from a mitsu fanboy mind you) and lack anything worth a damn.

As for telling if its a 4g63t, if he lets you look under the hood, look for any different valve cover/vins/codes from the stock engine in there
But I mean if he modified it, it could be fairly hard to tell.

i had both the 89 mirage turbo, dodge colt gt. both with the stock 4g61t.
swapped the 4g63 into both.

dont let the car fool you... if its 89-92 look for the dohc valve cover and turbo up front.

man do i miss those cars...

Heh, that Mirage is the one my buddy now has... Although he bought it from tom with no engine. Still looks great though.
