Cool Thoughts on 5th Gen Corvette

I'm having this small thought in my head and as much as I love my Audi I do miss the speed/performance. I'm thinking about this car in the next 8 months or so. I already checked insurance price changes and the like it seems reasonable.

I used to own a 4th generation F-body so I'm familiar with the LS1 engine. The years I was thinking of were 1997-1999 range as I am not looking to spend much money on this car. Thoughts?

EDIT: This would be a second car and not a DD...Audi stays.

I'm a fan of the C5 personally. It definitely has the potential to haul major ass. Go for it.

later c5 z51 could be a great buy. The z06 is very reasonable and you can make some great power out of it if you wanted to get crazy. c6 would be great, though.

If I went for a C5 it would have to be a Z06. Very nice and capable car and they can be had for reasonable money now.

i seen a guy with a c5 vette with c6 z06 swap stock motor intake exhaust every 100% stock running low 11's on slicks. what got my attention about the car was it was super quite for running 11's, and i wanted to see what he had. when he popped the hood and here is the ls7 c6 zo6 motor. theres why it runs low 11's

I love mine. Great car and pretty quick too. There were a ton of improvments in 2001 so if I was you I would look into 2001+years. If you have any questions about them let me know.

The LS1 vettes are awesome cars. And they are so easy to mod.

I'm only planning on spending 10-12K on the car so no C6 It'll have to be a non-Z06 C5. It'll be my secondary fun car while the Audi remains as DD. If I traded in the Audi I'd go C6 but I need the Audi as my daily driver in winter country. Quattro FTW!

Oh and Psycho what's with the 2001+ revisions you speak of?
