I will say this, 13's is fast for the average car, BUT if you are talking about performance oriented vehicles 13's was so 1990. 12's are the new 13. im sorry if you dont like my ego, everyone has one. I cant help where ive come from, and where that is 12's are decent but get NO praise. 12's fast for a truck hell yea, for a car, hell no.
ruthless im not trying to start an argument, or take shot at you or anyone else for that matter. "I" just have higher expectations that 12's in a sports car, maybe if i had owned a mustang or civic, yea shoot for 12's first but you have to understand my position.
Lastly, i would be ecstatic with 12's in a truck, but then again i wouldnt be happy with anything slower either.

As long as you can't tell the difference between include and exclude, you should keep your ego in check.

Look into an older V8 Dakota (body stlye before the Ram look). Or a GMC Typhoon/Syclone.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The Lightning is just barely a truck, it comes w/the sport side short bed, you couldn't fit a love seat back there. No extended cab option......2WD only.

Every other sport truck is still a truck first, sport second. The Silverado SS is the best option IMO, no it's not the fastest but it is the most practical.....AWD, extended cab option, full size short bed.

Has everyone forgotten about the Harley Davidson F150..

Past and Present, good interior, good S/C motor, good looks, and good overall truck.

dude, get outta here with the "no truck gets good mileage" thats what i bought the neon for, this truck will not be a daily driver. I simply want something that i wont have to fill up two or three times on a 400 mile trip. Please dont take shots at me, if you dont like what i have to say then dont read it, there are plenty other threads you can use to raise your post count. Anyhow, thanks for pointing out the obvious pbsrt.

You were the one that brought up gas mileage. I was not taking shots at you...sorry you take things so seriously.

Do you really think I am posting in your thread to raise my post count? I was actually trying to help since I happen to know a lot of people that use full size trucks for everything from a DD to a strictly work vehicle.

Sorry for that

<---- has moved couches, bookcases, big screen tvs, random crap etc...and it can tow. I personally don't but there are more than a few guys that still do. It definately can function as a truck still. The only reason that most people don't bother me for carrying their crap around is I put a hard tonneau on it and they won't help me take it off when they need help.

thanks for the input.

SCT Programmer + Billy Boat Stainless full stainless exhaust = Regular Cab Ram SRT-10 16 MPG on 93 Pump on the highway and it responds very well to mods.

I know cuz I have the truck and those mods. Watch vid below .

Dodge Ram SRT10 Exhaust Applications from Billy Boat Performance Exhaust

You can run propane direct injection into a diesel much like you run nitrous on gasoline motors. I watched a dodge cummins and a chevy duramax pull up to the line at Fontana in California and laughed to myself "What foolishness..." but 11.7 seconds later I wasn't laughing. There was a cloud of black smoke about the size of a thundercloud and my ears were ringing, as those two trucks both ran sub 12's down the track. It was truly a sight to see two big 4X4 trucks rocketing down the track at that speed. Unfortunately the Chevy won heh heh.

I miss my Dakota 5.9L R/T. With a supercharger, exhaust and heads, they can be very fast trucks. And they are pretty cheap now.

BINGO and theres your winning truck!

Step 1: find 02-03 5.9L highoutput v8 R/T Dakota( probably from 6 to 8 grand)

Step 2: Buy bolt on blower kit for truck (3 to 5 grand guessing?)

Step 3: traction bars, shift kit in trans, drag radials (500 to 1000?)

Step 4: Run mid to low 12's all day long

After that exhaust plus other supporting mods and youll have one insane truck for not much money spent at all. (11's maybe?)

If i were you this would be your best option. Fast and cheap.

I have personally witnessed blown dakota r/t's run mid to low 12's at the track on drag radials. Its not that hard to do!

That puts him in the 9500-14,000 range.
That's not far off what a Lightning costs.
