Default svt lightning vs others....?

Other than the Trailblazer SS and Jeep srt8, is there any other trucks out there with the capabilites as the lightning? Im talking as far as straight line performance. I know stock for stock theres prolly not anything, but is there anything that with light mods that is equivalent or faster than the lightning?

Im in the market for a truck, but i still want something fun to drive. Im not looking for 10's or 11's, id be perfectly happy with a 12 sec. truck.

ya i forgot to exclude that, 10mpg on the highway is unacceptable to me. I LOVE the styling tho, and would be my first choice if the gas wasny so damn bad. I forgot to mention that this will be my weekend cruiser and road trip taker.
thanks for the input.

don't know how much moding you want to do or how new you want but,

Silverado ss, Tacoma x runner, s-10/ blazer extremes, typhoons and cyclones, a roush f-150, or maybe even a diesel truck with some mods.( I know that’s a stretch)

i came very close to buying a x-runner with the trd supercharger, but after countless hours of research i find that they arent as quick as i thought. Hell, even pullied trd xrunners cant dip in the 12's and i thought that was disappointing.
Again, i LOVE the Jsrt8 and the TBSS, but im more in the market for a truck rather than suv.
keep em coming. boys
and diesel is out of the question.

Diesel = Win...if your going to buy a truck you should get one that can actually be used as a truck.

You can get RWD Trailblazers CRAZY cheap. I'm talking $19-22K for 20K miles.

the price of the TBSS is very attractive, but again i want a truck. Im aware of the positives as well as negatives of having a diesel, which would be number 1 in my book except, in stock trim it wont fit in my garage its too tall, and i dont want a 2wd diesel.

Plus i wont need the extra towing power of the diesel, for the most i will be towing is 2 quads at a time, racing quads at that.

If I were you, I would consider a regular cab 5.3 2wd Silverado. It is not extremely fast, (my bro's without lsd ran 14.9 stock-not bad) but can be made faster since it is a LS series motor (you can put on LS6 heads, agressive cam, headers, etc.). They are decently cheap and extremely reliable. His has over 140k miles on the original engine and trans. and still runs perfect and gets about 18 mpg in the city. Not to mention in my opinion they look awesome with rims and a drop. Another option would be a Joe Gibbs Supercharged Silverado. They come on ebay every now and then (no supercharged ones on there right now, only N/A). Cheaper than most Lightnings and better MPG's. Just something to consider...
