The car sites have picked up the image and are running with it now.

Tim Doyle did do some sketches of the Durango in the past, but there isn't anything on that image that isn't already rumored or "sighted"; the Cherokee SRT8 fog lights are a good example. Until I see the high-rez version posted by someone at SRT or Chrysler, it's still speculation.

Still no news about a turbo charged 2.4L DSRT.

This just in from webmaster@dodge-dart.org

Starkie,

Hello and Happy New Year Dodge Dart enthusiast and fans! With 2012 now behind us, it's been an interesting ride for Dodge-Dart.org. We started out as a small site with barely any activity to a thriving and active community almost overnight. With hundreds of active topics every hour and new members signing up daily, it's quite indicative of the successful launch of the Dodge Dart. The Dart has seen sales slowly increasing since it's June release and the month of December was the best month to date. The month of December saw sales skyrocket an astounding 36% increase over the previous month of November and countless publications tout the Dart as an early success due to it's late entry into the compact market and steady rising sales.

The Detroit North American International Auto Show opened yesterday and the Chrysler Group dropped a surprise this morning on Dart fans everywhere. The Dodge Dart R/T has become somewhat of a mystery in regards to release dates with no new information leaking out other than it's eventual release in Q2 2013. Today it was announced that the Dodge Dart GT was going to hit the streets in Q2 and the R/T was "still being investigated." A Dodge Spokesman said today that the GT was in fact the R/T, but with the obvious name change. Will there be an R/T? We simply do not know at this time, but Chrysler has already begun to streamline their trim and package offerings for the Dodge Dart. We will keep the community abreast of the situation if news of the R/T becomes available.

In this brief newsletter we've included links to todays breaking news and we encourage you to jump onto the forums and check out all the latest topics in Dart land. We've also included a link to the newest winner of the Ride of the month and a link to enter your ride today. We look forward to seeing you on the forums!! Happy New Year!!

I think that got a little more likely by them changing to the GT designation but I'd still prefer a front driver with similar power than a neutered front drive and all-out AWD.

^- just had to say it to counter all the "ooh, hope it's AWD" posts.

If that's the SRT version I hope it comes with a handicapped tag and 'grandma on board' window sign, you know, to complete the sleeper look it's got going on.

Renaming the Dart R/T the GT makes the "two SRTs" story more plausible. The high performance FWD variant would be the new R/T, and the expensive AWD 300+HP would be the SRT.

I hate the caliber front end. The Neon had it right, put the crosshairs down low.

If that's the case I wonder how they will address the power loss of an awd system . Let the fwf version be faster ? Detune the fwd version ? Use a better engine/turbo for the awd .

I still hope the srt4 is a low budget , high power , upgradeable , fwd giant killer again . That's the formula that works .
