See, the gadgets are the things I am interested in seeing what SRT does with. I think the Cobalt had the option of coming from the factory with traction control (which isn't this just a factory 2-step), wideband, and WOT box (no shift lift). I think it would be great to have those things ready in my SRT Dart if I was to buy one.
And how about turbo size? Will SRT bolt up a nice size turbo? Again, back to Chevy, I believe I have read that Cobalt owners could see around 400whp off a stock turbo. Correct me if I am wrong please. I don't want mixed facts. Also, edub20, I love your signature! That video cracks me up!! LOL

The stock BorgWarner K04 in the '08+ Cobalt SS Turbo will flow around low to mid-300 whp range and if you really push it spike up enr 400 ft-lbs. of torque. The stock fuel system with just an aftermarket tune/calibration increasing rail pressure can support around 500 whp or more on race gas depending on the turbo.

I dyno'd right after a local cobalt SS with a BNR 2871R (kind of a hybrid k04/2871 turbo thingy) and E85 at a local event on a mustang dyno. He made 393whp/427wtq and I did 442whp/491wtq with my setup on stock motor at ~25psi. That's the highest hp fastest cobalt I've ever seen. I don't remember what he had to do with the fuel setup, some kind of thing that raises the fuel pressure or something.

Would be strange to have a fwd and awd version. For a vehicle that would probably limited production it wouldnt make much sense.
I agree. I will believe there is an AWD version when I hear it from Dodge/SRT themselves, no one else.

And this is why the dart srt won't be able to compete in the FWD platform. Whether anybody likes to admit it or not, 500 lbs is no joke.
Anybody ever heard that you slow down .1 per 100lbs.? So 500lbs would be .5 slower. Ouch. hopefully the D-SRT wil have 300+hp to make up for the weight. We're just dreaming and hoping here! Gosh! Like a cold bucket of water...
Agreed. i keep bugging my local dealership about ANY news...if the D-SRT WERE to even be out this summer, we would have to have heard something by now. you can't just plan to make 10,000+ cars appear in less than 6 months without anybody leaking the info.

500lbs is still overstating things. Most srt-4s will hit the scales right around 3100lbs with only a driver. The dart should end up maybe 350-400lbs heavier at most, but more aerodynamic and with better traction, so with an equal whp we may see a 14 flat with the expected HP increase being mid 13s for a fwd setup. I dont see a way, unless bean counters really interfere, that the SRT team releases the car with a step down in performance, especially after the reviews the caliber got.

I would suggest cleaning the trash cans at the local park as not only more a socially rewarding way to spend that time, but also as about 235,353,253,523 times more likely to result in solid accurate information on the new car.

My buddy that was in the Army with me now works on the assembly line in the Belvidere, Illinois plant. That's where the Darts are made. They still don't have any info on the SRT Model. Trust me, if he knew he would send me pics and info.

Honestly, with Fiat taking over and giving the SRT team room to grow I don't see much penny pinching going on in the future. |

You mean, if he wanted to be fired for breach of an NDA.

By the time the car hits the factory floor NDA's are pretty mute. The whole supply chain knows about the car...
Supply chain is under NDA as well. I'm not saying leaks can (and do) happen, but I'm saying we're not going to be seeing iPhone photos off the production line except from the sanctioned tours for the public.
