That's all good and all, but I also read that we lost 500,000 last month... which seems like a lot.

where did you hear that? I'd love to see the sources. I am all about evenness and getting the total picture. According to the state surveys the last 6 months have all shown increases...save farmers.

There's two different ways of measuring Job growth and I can't remember the names for them but they work as follows.

One method receives it's statistics from employers, the other method from households. Typically the first method does not take into account new jobs created by self-employment, etc... The second does. The funniest part about all of this is that they completely disagree about the state of unemployment in America. When the Kerry people tell you that jobs in america are disappearing hand over fist, they're getting their numbers from the first poll. On the other hand, Bush's ads can say that hundreds of thousands of new jobs are being created every month by using the second poll. Don't you love statistics?

ugh.....no matter which candidate is leading in the polls I can't get excited. At this point a downward spiral into anarchy sounds as equally appealing as having either of these asshats as president for the next 4 years

Job growth was way up, but so was unemployment by .1 percent.

Under bush 1.8 million were lost since he came into office. obviously most of the was due to the WTC attacks and the ensuing fear. but it looks like things could be on an upswing. As a survivor of unemployment, I hope so for all of their sakes..

I saw Kerry on MTV last night (I know... bizarre). I was very impressed. I hope Bush takes MTV up on their offer to interview him as well. It's nice to actually be able to base your opinion on what a person says, rather than hearing about it secondhand.

Bah, not to turn this into a bash fest but Kerry is an evil fucktard. Bush can come off sounding pretty dumb but voting Kerry into office would ruin what has been going on for the last 4 years IMHO.
