Default Just installed a Hurst short shifter

I just installed a hurst short shifter and i seem to have a little trouble with the boot. When i shift into 3 and 5 gear it pops the back of the boot up. Just wanted to know if anyone has had the problem and what do i do.

Are you using the stock boot??

yea i am using the stock boot just it keep popping off since its to tight i guess

The boot has to go as low on the stick as it can go.

Just installed one Saturday using the stock boot no issues, are the clips that hold it on broken? It was the first time my boot was taken off and it came off kinda hard and clicked back on very nicely.
I have seen pictures on the forum of people who modified the stock boot but no need with mine.
