sorry for the kinda noobie question, but if i got some prothane inserts for my stock sxt (i know it sucks but i cant help it im young), would it actually help my peformance? i know it does in the srt but i figured the engine fidgets more with the increased performance, im just looking for a couple extra hp, cuz my buddy just killed me in his new 06 jetta . any replies would be appreciated.

Does not add performance. I bet you don't get wheelhop with the sxt and these are mainly what the inserts are for.

My guess is that these will not help you. The SRT-4 benefits from stiffer mounts because the factory mounts are way too soft. They're way too soft because Dodge thinks that people don't want to feel all of the vibration and noise that our engines put out. The soft mounts lead to wheel hop. Stiffer mounts help tame this problem.

Want to go faster for cheap? Start pulling weight out of your car. Everything that isn't bolted down comes out. Floor mats, trunk mats, jack, etc. Then start pulling out things that are bolted down! Spare tire, stereo, speakers, passenger seat, back seat, plastic trim, carpeting, sound deadening, etc. Make sure you run your gas down to 1/8 of a tank. Then run him again.
