lol, i'm 20 and tomorrow i'm going to get my srt-4 it's costing me 255$ for insurance and around 200$ for the car payments, i put almost 8k down on the car and i'm only making about 800$ monthly, call me stupid but with no other expenses at this point why not?
if you live alone and can find a good deal then go for it, the only thing i'm worried about is how reliable this beast will be in the long run i ended up going with this over the cheaper (and probably more reliable XRS)
Well in all honesty, to answer your question, because it's not always a good decision for a 20 year old to get something beyond their true income range simply because they currently have no bills or expenses.
That changes and fast. It's not just an age thing though, I'm 21, just certain situations don't apply to different people.

I have been interested in an srt4 for teh past year or so. Everyone i know with an srt4 has their parents to pay teh insurance and sometimes teh payments. I know about teh car, and LOVE teh look, and capabilities. MY ONLY QUESTIONS ARE: Can i afford this car on $1200.00 monthly? I pay $400 a month on rent...INSURANCE RAPES. There is a SOM SRT4 for sale down teh street, and i wanna look at it. This may be a dumb thread, but i just wanna hear some numbers.....(insurance cost)(payment amount). Im 21 and maybe one of you are of similar age and can throw some numbers at me. HELP....IM SO TIRED OF SEEING THE BAD ASS SRT'S yet i have a taurus.LMAO! THANKS@
No you can't, but it's not for any of the things you mentioned.
Reguardless of what anyone says; the srt4 is a high performance vehicle.
Your commute time it criticaly dependent (Gas, ware and tear, ride quality)..
If your are mechanicaly inclined (and have free room to work) that's a BIG plus.
Look, I take home a little more than 4K a month, and I would never drive this car daily. or pay for anything that cost more than what I paid for my car BRAND NEW...
The reason I'm saing this is because your finances should be dedicated to a less maintenance oriented vehicle (like my daily driver a 93' rolla), and pay off your freakin' BILLS (Google Dave Ramsey & take note)..
