Default I want An SRT4...But can i afford it?

I have been interested in an srt4 for teh past year or so. Everyone i know with an srt4 has their parents to pay teh insurance and sometimes teh payments. I know about teh car, and LOVE teh look, and capabilities. MY ONLY QUESTIONS ARE: Can i afford this car on $1200.00 monthly? I pay $400 a month on rent...INSURANCE RAPES. There is a SOM SRT4 for sale down teh street, and i wanna look at it. This may be a dumb thread, but i just wanna hear some numbers.....(insurance cost)(payment amount). Im 21 and maybe one of you are of similar age and can throw some numbers at me. HELP....IM SO TIRED OF SEEING THE BAD ASS SRT'S yet i have a taurus.LMAO! THANKS@

Is your 1200 dollars your take home? Your rent is taking 1/3 of your income, if you have a 300 dollar car payment, that's 700 total, then you have insurance, guessing you'll be looking at 200 a month, that is 900 dollars, that leaves you 300 left over for food, electricity, cable, phone, and whatever else you may want to do.

I don't know that 300 dollars is enough to take care of all of that. The insurance is what generally gets people, they think they can afford the car then they find out that insurance is at a premium because most companies put a performance qualifier on the car which makes it expensive as hell to insure.

Might want to invest in English lessons first.

Don't even consider putting yourself into a bad situation over a car. It's just a car!!

If you have to ask then more than likely you can't.

Damn man fill for welfare! Make the goverment pay it!! 13k shit do you work at walmart? Also i dont think its in your best financial interest to invest on a car that WILL get modded. Then things will wear down. the Srt is a race inspiried car things go on it. I just spent 800 on pads and tires. Tires kick it around 15k thats 400 bucks a year . Oil at least 4 times thats 150. Insurance and payments are going to starve you and maintence will flat ut bankrupt you. I know a guy that lost his srt..just stop makin payments on it..Shit got repppppooed! Stick with the toarus till your financial situation gets better. Or you live at home like me!! Mom and dad FTW! College student <<< not a bum

Call around for quotes and crunch the numbers.
Find out positively what you'd owe, not a guess.

Or wait until January and maybe Obama will hook
you up through his wealth distribution plan?

What your probably going to want to do is go to a dealership and finance the car... If you can strike a deal for the amount of money you want to pay, agree and an interest rate (you'll need really good credit if your not co-signing), and get an accurate quote for insurance.. then thats when your going to want to budget things out..

For me.. i got a killer interest rate for my age and credit history...but i also co-signed with my parents... however, i am the one that pays for it and for its insurance...

I got on a very long plan to be able to make my monthly payments really cheap... (5 year @ $140 a month and i had a 5k down payment on a $12k loan) Insurance i pay is going to be a bit different for you... I ((at the moment)..just got a few tickets the other day ) only pay $160 a month for insurance... so pretty much 300 bucks a month for my car...

You have to do research on your own.. coming here really isnt going to give you a definate answer of whether you can afford the car or not.. It really depends on you and all of those contributing factors

find a cheaper alternative to feed your need for a modding love. older mx6 turbo, prelude, golf turbo, etc. there are cheaper cars you can mod and make fast on a budget.
